Optimize Toolset

I’ve always been into building performant and accessible sites, but lately I’ve been taking it extremely seriously. So much so that I’ve been building a tool to help me optimize and monitor the sites that I build to make sure that I’m making an attempt to offer the best experience to those who visit them. If you’re into performant, accessible and SEO friendly sites, you might like it too! You can check it out at Optimize Toolset.

About

Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

If you’re interested in other things I’m working on, follow me on Twitter or check out the open source projects I’ve been publishing on GitHub.

I am also working on a Twitter bot for this site to tweet the most popular, newest, random packages from npm. Please follow that account now and it will start sending out packages soon–ish.

Open Software & Tools

This site wouldn’t be possible without the immense generosity and tireless efforts from the people who make contributions to the world and share their work via open source initiatives. Thank you 🙏

@intentic/scaffold

v1.317.0

Published

Shared scaffold for an intentic workspace, the intent-repo skeleton + deploy.config managed-region render/parse, used by the CLI's `init` and the sandbox daemon

Readme

scaffold

The workspace plumbing the intentic CLI and the sandbox daemon share: running git, the on-disk layout, template scaffolding, the deploy.config.ts managed region and secret sync state.

flowchart LR
    cli["intentic CLI<br/>init · add-app · adopt · secrets"] --> scaffold(["scaffold"])
    daemon["Sandbox daemon<br/>git · templates · secrets"] --> scaffold
    scaffold --> git["git<br/>forked from a resident child"]
    scaffold --> source["Template source repo<br/>templates.json"]
    scaffold --> config["deploy.config.ts<br/>managed region"]
  • defaultGit is the GitRunner behind almost every git call the daemon makes. It forks git from a small resident child (forker.ts) rather than from the large daemon process, retries only on index.lock contention, and marks pathspecs literal so a file named [slug] matches only itself. forkedExec runs the daemon's other polled commands (tmux, status probes) from the same child: a spawn from a large process first copies its page tables, 52 ms at 778 MB, where a request to the child costs 0.04 ms. politeGit runs bulk agent work under nice and ionice.
  • workspace-layout.ts names the three repos a project operates on (intent, desired-state, app) and their well-known files. The CLI and the daemon must agree on these names.
  • scaffoldMonorepo and addAppsToMonorepo build an app monorepo from a template source repository described by its templates.json; DEFAULT_TEMPLATE_SOURCE is the default, and a workspace overrides it in .intentic/config/templates.json.
  • writeManagedRegion and readManagedRegion regenerate only the platform-owned block between the markers in deploy.config.ts; user code outside it is untouched. A line inside the region the parser cannot read makes the next write refuse and name that line, since regenerating the region would delete it.
  • secret-inventory.ts keeps sha256 digests of the secrets last pushed to CI, the only way to tell current from stale since CI cannot read them back.
