Optimize Toolset

I’ve always been into building performant and accessible sites, but lately I’ve been taking it extremely seriously. So much so that I’ve been building a tool to help me optimize and monitor the sites that I build to make sure that I’m making an attempt to offer the best experience to those who visit them. If you’re into performant, accessible and SEO friendly sites, you might like it too! You can check it out at Optimize Toolset.

About

Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

If you’re interested in other things I’m working on, follow me on Twitter or check out the open source projects I’ve been publishing on GitHub.

I am also working on a Twitter bot for this site to tweet the most popular, newest, random packages from npm. Please follow that account now and it will start sending out packages soon–ish.

Open Software & Tools

This site wouldn’t be possible without the immense generosity and tireless efforts from the people who make contributions to the world and share their work via open source initiatives. Thank you 🙏

Atmosphere Component Library by IVAO

React

Requirements

React version: > 18.3

How to install

npm i @ivao/atmosphere-react
pnpm add @ivao/atmosphere-react

Configure

tailwindcss

If you want to use tailwindcss classes, customizations or overrides, you need to add our tailwind preset to your tailwind.config.ts file.

import ivaoPreset from '@ivao/atmosphere-react/tailwind.preset.ts'; // import the preset

import { Config } from 'tailwindcss';

export default {
  content: [
    './src/**/*.tsx', // your files here...
    './node_modules/@ivao/atmosphere-react/dist/atmosphere-react.js', // let tailwind know about our components
  ],
  presets: [ivaoPreset], // add the preset here
} satisfies Config;

Additionally, you need to import our source CSS file that adds the color variables to your project. In your app CSS file, add this line:

@import '@ivao/atmosphere-react/src/styles/index.css';

You can extend your CSS file (e.g. add utilities or base classes) and tailwind config (e.g. add colors) as you prefer.

CSS only

Import our CSS by adding this line to your index file.

import '@ivao/atmosphere-react/dist/styles/index.css';

This approach is sufficient if no further tailwind classes, customizations or overrides are needed.

Testing Locally on another repo

You can use Storybook to see how the components look, however it's recommended to also test it on a more real environment as a new repo.

  1. Run pnpm dev:react:build to build the library.
  2. To use it on another repo, there are multiple ways, but one of the simplest ones is running
pnpm dev:react:pack

This command creates a .tgz file on the root of the /components/react folder. Copy the name of that file.

  1. To use it on your repo, add this line to your package.json. Replace the .tgz file name.
// Remember to change the version <FILE_NAME> to the file that was created
"@ivao/atmosphere-react": "file:../atmosphere/components/react/<FILE_NAME>",
