Optimize Toolset

I’ve always been into building performant and accessible sites, but lately I’ve been taking it extremely seriously. So much so that I’ve been building a tool to help me optimize and monitor the sites that I build to make sure that I’m making an attempt to offer the best experience to those who visit them. If you’re into performant, accessible and SEO friendly sites, you might like it too! You can check it out at Optimize Toolset.

About

Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

If you’re interested in other things I’m working on, follow me on Twitter or check out the open source projects I’ve been publishing on GitHub.

I am also working on a Twitter bot for this site to tweet the most popular, newest, random packages from npm. Please follow that account now and it will start sending out packages soon–ish.

Open Software & Tools

This site wouldn’t be possible without the immense generosity and tireless efforts from the people who make contributions to the world and share their work via open source initiatives. Thank you 🙏

BMAD Studio — Visual workflow dashboard for the BMAD Method

Readme

BMAD Studio

Visual workflow dashboard for the BMAD Method.

Prerequisites

  • Node.js >= 18
  • pnpm

Install

pnpm install

Development

Start both the server (port 5400) and UI (port 5173):

pnpm dev

Open http://localhost:5173

Testing Scenarios

1. Normal Mode (BMAD project detected)

Run from the project root — the server auto-detects _bmad-output/:

cd /path/to/bmad-studio
pnpm dev

You should see the Subway Map view.

2. Unconfigured Mode (No BMAD project detected)

To trigger the first-launch ConfigScreen, run the server from an empty directory:

# Terminal 1 — server from empty dir
mkdir -p /tmp/bmad-test
cd /tmp/bmad-test
npx tsx /path/to/bmad-studio/packages/server/src/dev.ts

cd /Volumes/jaabiri/bmad-studio && npx tsx /Volumes/jaabiri/bmad-studio/packages/server/src/dev.ts
 cd /Volumes/jaabiri/bmad-studio && pnpm --filter @bmad-studio/ui dev

 cd /Volumes/jaabiri/bmad-studio && pnpm --filter @bmad-studio/server dev
# Terminal 2 — UI dev server
cd /path/to/bmad-studio
pnpm --filter @bmad-studio/ui dev

Open http://localhost:5173 — you will see the "No BMAD project detected" screen.

From here you can:

  • Type a directory name (e.g. _bmad-output) and click Configure — the server creates the directory and transitions to the Subway Map
  • If suggestions appear (directories containing .md files), click one to select it

3. Kill Running Servers

If ports are already in use:

# Find and kill processes on ports 5400 and 5173
lsof -ti :5400 -ti :5173 | xargs kill

Run Tests

# All server tests
pnpm --filter @bmad-studio/server test

# All CLI tests
pnpm --filter @bmad-studio/cli test

# All UI tests
pnpm --filter @bmad-studio/ui test
