Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

CraftFiles

CraftFiles is a CLI tool designed to initialize and generate configuration files for JavaScript and TypeScript projects. It helps developers quickly set up linters, formatters, environment variables, and AI instructions for their projects.

Installation

npm install -g @jara505/craftfiles

Usage

Run the following command to start the interactive setup:

@jara505/craftfiles init

This command detects if your project is JavaScript/TypeScript based and prompts you to choose which configuration files to generate, such as Biome (linter/formatter), Prettier (formatter), .env (environment variables), and AGENTS.md (instructions for AI tools).

Commands

  • @jara505/craftfiles init: Initialize project with config files interactively.
  • @jara505/craftfiles clean: Remove generated config files.

Options

  • --help, -h: Display help.
  • --version, -V: Show version.
  • --creator: Display creator info.

$ @jara505/craftfiles init
