Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

Harbour

Zero-dependency local service discovery dashboard. One command shows every service running on your machine.

Harbour dashboard

Install

npx @jkershaw/harbour

Or install globally:

npm i -g @jkershaw/harbour

What it does

Harbour scans your machine for listening services and displays them in a visual grid. It auto-detects project names, tech stacks, and favicons — no configuration needed.

  • Discovers local services by scanning listening ports
  • Identifies frameworks (Next.js, Vite, Django, Rails, Go, Rust, ...)
  • Shows project names from package.json, README, pyproject.toml, Cargo.toml, go.mod
  • Fetches favicons from running services
  • Pin, hide, and bookmark services
  • Light and dark themes
