Optimize Toolset

I’ve always been into building performant and accessible sites, but lately I’ve been taking it extremely seriously. So much so that I’ve been building a tool to help me optimize and monitor the sites that I build to make sure that I’m making an attempt to offer the best experience to those who visit them. If you’re into performant, accessible and SEO friendly sites, you might like it too! You can check it out at Optimize Toolset.

About

Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

If you’re interested in other things I’m working on, follow me on Twitter or check out the open source projects I’ve been publishing on GitHub.

I am also working on a Twitter bot for this site to tweet the most popular, newest, random packages from npm. Please follow that account now and it will start sending out packages soon–ish.

Open Software & Tools

This site wouldn’t be possible without the immense generosity and tireless efforts from the people who make contributions to the world and share their work via open source initiatives. Thank you 🙏

Enterprise-grade frontend Admin UI foundation for jsango

Readme

@jsango/admin-ui

Enterprise-grade, Chakra UI v3-styled frontend Admin UI foundation for the jsango (JSango) framework.

Features

  • Chakra UI v3 Design System: Semantic color tokens (bg.canvas, bg.panel, bg.subtle, border.subtle, brand.solid), glassmorphism cards, and Lucide vector icons.
  • 100% Mobile-Friendly & Responsive: Responsive topbar, collapsible slide-over hamburger drawer, touch-optimized horizontal scroll tables, and mobile bottom sheet filters.
  • Metadata-Driven Django Architecture: Consumes @jsango/admin-core & @jsango/admin-server schemas without hardcoding model views.
  • Full Django Admin Capabilities:
    • App Index & Dashboard: Grouped model categories with "+ Add" & "Change" links, live stat cards, and recent actions timeline.
    • Changelist: Search bar, facet filter drawer (list_filter), column sorting (ordering), pagination, bulk actions, and CSV export.
    • Changeform: Typed inputs (text, number, email, textarea, enums, booleans), field validation, and sticky bottom actions bar (Save, Save and continue editing, Save and add another, Delete).
    • Item-Level History: Change history modal tracking past mutations with timestamps and actor details.
  • Fast Command Palette (Cmd+K / Ctrl+K): Instant keyboard navigation across all models and tools.
  • Light & Dark Mode: Seamless toggle with system color scheme preference.

Mounting the Admin Single-Page App (SPA)

In your JSango application router:

import { createAdminUiHandler } from '@jsango/admin-ui';

// Mount the Chakra UI Admin Console
const adminHandler = createAdminUiHandler({
  title: 'JSango Enterprise Admin',
  brandSubtitle: 'Management Console',
  apiPrefix: '/api/admin',
  defaultTheme: 'dark',
  siteUrl: '/',
});

router.get('/admin', adminHandler);

CLI Resource Scaffolding

To quickly generate a new typed AdminResource and corresponding ORM model:

# Basic usage
npx @jsango/cli make:admin <ModelName>

# With custom navigation group and Lucide icon
npx @jsango/cli make:admin Article --group "Blog Management" --icon "newspaper"

Programmatic / Isomorphic Component API

import { AdminApp, AdminApiClient, ThemeManager } from '@jsango/admin-ui';

const client = new AdminApiClient({
  baseUrl: '/api/admin',
});

const app = new AdminApp({
  client,
  config: {
    title: 'Acme Admin Console',
    defaultTheme: 'dark',
  },
});

const html = await app.render();
