MCP server for i18n maintenance — validate, extract, and scaffold translation keys across locale dictionaries.
Part of the i18n-setup skill — a complete production-grade internationalization system for Next.js 14+ App Router projects.
Quick Start
npx @kaos-intelligence/i18n-mcpThen add to your MCP configuration:
{
"mcpServers": {
"i18n": {
"command": "npx",
"args": ["@kaos-intelligence/i18n-mcp"]
}
}
}This works in Cursor (.cursor/mcp.json), Claude Desktop (mcp.json), and any MCP-compatible client.
Tools
| Tool | Description |
|---|---|
| i18n-validate | Full validation: missing keys, unused keys, per-locale completeness |
| i18n-extract-missing | Keys in t() calls missing from en.json (with source locations) |
| i18n-extract-unused | Keys in en.json never called in code |
| i18n-locale-report | Per-locale completeness percentages |
| i18n-add-key | Atomically scaffold a new key across all dictionaries |
Requirements
- Node.js 18+
- A project with the standard i18n file structure:
app/i18n/dictionaries/en.jsonapp/i18n/dictionaries/{locale}.jsonapp/source directory
Zero npm dependencies. Uses only Node.js built-in modules.
