Optimize Toolset

I’ve always been into building performant and accessible sites, but lately I’ve been taking it extremely seriously. So much so that I’ve been building a tool to help me optimize and monitor the sites that I build to make sure that I’m making an attempt to offer the best experience to those who visit them. If you’re into performant, accessible and SEO friendly sites, you might like it too! You can check it out at Optimize Toolset.

About

Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

If you’re interested in other things I’m working on, follow me on Twitter or check out the open source projects I’ve been publishing on GitHub.

I am also working on a Twitter bot for this site to tweet the most popular, newest, random packages from npm. Please follow that account now and it will start sending out packages soon–ish.

Open Software & Tools

This site wouldn’t be possible without the immense generosity and tireless efforts from the people who make contributions to the world and share their work via open source initiatives. Thank you 🙏

Typed HTTP/WS client for Khora hosts.

Readme

@khoralabs/khora-client

TypeScript client for Khora / Colonnade-style HTTP + WebSocket hosts (/v1/*, inbox WS). Negotiation byte transport lives in a separate product (khoralabs/relay), not the Khora host.

Transport

Wiring (createHttpKhoraTransportBundle, createKhoraTransportBundleFromEnv, KHORA_TRANSPORT) lives in @khoralabs/khora-client/transport. Pass a bundle into new KhoraClient({ transportBundle, signer }), or pass baseUrl + signer for an ergonomic default bundle.

Config

  • loadKhoraAppConfig, extendKhoraAppConfig, zKhoraAppConfigBase, khoraConfigJsonSchema, resolveKhoraConfigPath, readKhoraConfigFileWithExtends, mergeKhoraAppConfigLayers, khoraAppConfigFromEnv, KhoraConfigError — shared base schema with extends chaining, per-id plugin maps ({ [id]: options | false }), env layering (KHORA_*), and JSON Schema generation.

Operator home

Shared CLI/daemon path helpers (exported from package root):

  • defaultIdentityPath, DEFAULT_KHORA_BASE_URL, defaultKhoraDataDir, resolveKhoraDataDir
  • discoverRegisteredHostSlugs — probe configured hosts for a DID profile (used after registry link)

Example snippet:

{
  "$schema": "./node_modules/@khoralabs/khora-client/khora-config.schema.json",
  "extends": "./base.json",
  "baseUrl": "http://127.0.0.1:8787",
  "plugins": {
    "khora.plugin.profile-sync": { "filePath": "./profile-state.json" }
  }
}

The JSON Schema artifact is exported at @khoralabs/khora-client/khora-config.schema.json for editor IntelliSense.

Scripts

  • bun run typechecktsc --noEmit
  • bun test — package tests
  • bun run build:schema — regenerate khora-config.schema.json

Published on npm as @khoralabs/khora-client (lockstep with @khoralabs/khora-host and @khoralabs/khora-registry via .github/workflows/release-khora-libs.yml).

Negotiation channels (separate from Khora host)

Bilateral OBP/NBC sessions use channel multiplex transport from khoralabs/relay (and Vellum orchestration). The Khora host provides discovery (profiles, posts, inbox) only.

  1. DiscoveryKhoraClient.connectInbox() for post fan-out and future negotiation_invite handoff notifications.
  2. Channel transport — against a Vellum-provisioned relay URL. See .brain/technical/channel-lifecycle.md and khoralabs/relay.
  3. Local daemon@khoralabs/vellum-daemon connects to the multiplex; the Khora inbox daemon (apps/daemon) covers inbox delivery only.

Subscriptions

Create standing-search subscriptions with signed POST /v1/posts via createSubscription. HTTP subscribe shims (/v1/authors/.../subscribe, /v1/topics/.../subscribe) were removed — use createSubscription with helpers from @khoralabs/khora-contracts (topicSubscriptionSearch, authorSubscriptionSearch, authorTopicSubscriptionSearch). Discover public subscriptions via GET/POST /v1/search with e.g. options.labels.some: ["khora_subscription"].
