Optimize Toolset

I’ve always been into building performant and accessible sites, but lately I’ve been taking it extremely seriously. So much so that I’ve been building a tool to help me optimize and monitor the sites that I build to make sure that I’m making an attempt to offer the best experience to those who visit them. If you’re into performant, accessible and SEO friendly sites, you might like it too! You can check it out at Optimize Toolset.

About

Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

If you’re interested in other things I’m working on, follow me on Twitter or check out the open source projects I’ve been publishing on GitHub.

I am also working on a Twitter bot for this site to tweet the most popular, newest, random packages from npm. Please follow that account now and it will start sending out packages soon–ish.

Open Software & Tools

This site wouldn’t be possible without the immense generosity and tireless efforts from the people who make contributions to the world and share their work via open source initiatives. Thank you 🙏

✨ New: easier Freqtrade bot testing in UI

You can now run Freqtrade bot tests directly from the web interface with much less setup friction.

https://github.com/user-attachments/assets/b376f964-ab70-44ef-b8f6-bc3fd19f4e21

Run the UI with one of these options:

# from engine repo root:
npm install
npm run ui

# or without global install:
npx -y @kiploks/engine-cli ui --watch
  • Pick a specific backtest artifact from the list, or run in Auto (top_n) mode.
  • Start integration runs from a cleaner Step 4 workspace with collapsible sections.
  • Get report links in run logs after successful local runs, so you can open results right away.
  • Report title handling is automatic and predictable when switching between artifact and top_n modes.

Repository: github.com/kiploks/engine

Deterministic trading analytics engine for Kiploks Open Core: analyze(), walk-forward and professional-grade paths, benchmark and turnover logic, and types aligned with hosted Kiploks reports and integrations.

Use cases algorithmic trading research, walk-forward analysis (WFA), backtest validation, risk and benchmark metrics in TypeScript, reproducible local pipelines.

Install

npm install @kiploks/engine-core @kiploks/engine-contracts

Quick example

import { analyze } from "@kiploks/engine-core";

const out = analyze(
  { strategyId: "demo", trades: [{ profit: 1.25 }, { profit: -0.4 }] },
  { seed: 42, decimals: 8 },
);

console.log(out.summary, out.metadata);

Philosophy

Results are deterministic for a given input, config, and published version. The hosted product at kiploks.com builds full reports and workflows on the same methodological stack; this package is the embeddable core for integrators and researchers.

API policy

  • Browser / integrators: import { … } from "@kiploks/engine-core" - stable, documented surface.
  • Node / hosted backends (full report assembly): import { … } from "@kiploks/engine-core/server" - semver-stable subpath on npm. Do not use this from frontend bundles.
  • The legacy ./internal entry is stripped from published package.json (prepack); prefer ./server for server-side code.
