Optimize Toolset

I’ve always been into building performant and accessible sites, but lately I’ve been taking it extremely seriously. So much so that I’ve been building a tool to help me optimize and monitor the sites that I build to make sure that I’m making an attempt to offer the best experience to those who visit them. If you’re into performant, accessible and SEO friendly sites, you might like it too! You can check it out at Optimize Toolset.

About

Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

If you’re interested in other things I’m working on, follow me on Twitter or check out the open source projects I’ve been publishing on GitHub.

I am also working on a Twitter bot for this site to tweet the most popular, newest, random packages from npm. Please follow that account now and it will start sending out packages soon–ish.

Open Software & Tools

This site wouldn’t be possible without the immense generosity and tireless efforts from the people who make contributions to the world and share their work via open source initiatives. Thank you 🙏

📖 Full Documentation → ui.koalarx.com

Installation

npm install -g @koalarx/ui

or with bun:

bun add -g @koalarx/ui

Commands

kl new

Creates a new Angular project with the Koala structure and dependencies already configured.

Interactive prompts (before scaffold): package manager → app/library → SSR (app only) → AI context (Cursor / GitHub Copilot).

Package managers: bun, npm, yarn, pnpm.

Skip prompts with --pm, --type app|library, --ssr / --no-ssr, --ai-context, and --silent (non-interactive defaults: bun + app + no SSR + AI context none).

kl new --name meu-projeto
kl new --name my-project --pm npm
kl new my-app --ssr
kl new my-lib --type library
kl new my-app --ai-context both
kl new my-app --silent

kl install

Adds one or more UI components to the project.

Use --silent to accept all external dependency installs without prompting (recommended for AI agents and CI).

kl install button
kl install button,loading,dropdown
kl install modal --project meu-projeto
kl install button,modal --silent

kl add

Adds project features. Currently supports AI context scaffolding:

kl add ai-context cursor
kl add ai-context github
kl add ai-context cursor github

kl init

Initializes an existing Angular project with the Koala structure and required tooling.

kl init
kl init --project meu-projeto
kl init --project meu-projeto --verbose
kl init --ai-context none
kl init --silent

kl version

Shows the installed CLI version.

Support lines (main + previous-release)

| Line | Branch | Docs | npm dist-tag | |------|--------|------|--------------| | Latest | main | ui.koalarx.com | latest | | Previous | previous-release | ui.koalarx.com/v{major}/ | configured in .github/release-lines.json (previousDistTag, e.g. angular-21) |

Archive branches (e.g. 22.3.0) keep frozen majors without CI. On a major bump: create the archive from previous-release, move current main into previous-release, then develop the new major on main. See .agents/documentation.md.

Library major tracks Angular major (22.x → Angular 21, 23.x → Angular 22).
