Optimize Toolset

I’ve always been into building performant and accessible sites, but lately I’ve been taking it extremely seriously. So much so that I’ve been building a tool to help me optimize and monitor the sites that I build to make sure that I’m making an attempt to offer the best experience to those who visit them. If you’re into performant, accessible and SEO friendly sites, you might like it too! You can check it out at Optimize Toolset.

About

Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

If you’re interested in other things I’m working on, follow me on Twitter or check out the open source projects I’ve been publishing on GitHub.

I am also working on a Twitter bot for this site to tweet the most popular, newest, random packages from npm. Please follow that account now and it will start sending out packages soon–ish.

Open Software & Tools

This site wouldn’t be possible without the immense generosity and tireless efforts from the people who make contributions to the world and share their work via open source initiatives. Thank you 🙏

A Vite plugin for building modular assets with Webflow/CDN integration

Readme

🚀 vite-plugin-webflow-bundler

A Vite plugin that compiles and bundles your JavaScript and CSS files for seamless integration with Webflow, optimized for:

  • Local development (localhost)
  • Production delivery via GitHub CDN (jsDelivr)

✨ Features

  • ⚡ Automatically generates CSS and JS loaders for Webflow
  • 🔄 Export files into dist/
  • 📦 Creates a manifest.json for CDN version tracking
  • 🧪 Local interface at http://localhost:3000/webflow
  • 🧠 Smart fallback logic: localhost → CDN
  • 🧹 Automatic minification (individual files)

📦 Installation

npm install --save-dev @kobonostudio/vite-plugin-webflow-bundler

⚙️ Basic Setup

1. Add the plugin to vite.config.js

import { defineConfig } from 'vite'
import webflowBundlerPlugin from '@kobonostudio/vite-plugin-webflow-bundler'

export default defineConfig({
  plugins: [webflowBundlerPlugin()],
})

2. Create a starter.config.js file

export default {
  cdn: {
    baseUrl: 'https://cdn.jsdelivr.net/gh',
    user: 'your-github-user',
    repo: 'your-repo-name',
    branch: 'main',
    org: true, // or false for personal accounts
  },

  deploy: {
    mode: 'split', // 'none' | 'public-only' | 'split'
    publicRepo: 'my-webflow-project-prod',
    privateRepo: 'my-webflow-project',
    branch: 'main',
  },

  // (optional) custom order for CSS files
  cssOrder: [
    'reset.css',
    'variables.css',
    'layout.css',
    'components/button.css',
    'styles.css',
  ],
}

📁 Recommended Structure

your-project/
├── src/
│   ├── css/
│   │   ├── reset.css
│   │   ├── variables.css
│   │   ├── layout.css
│   │   └── styles.css
│   └── main.js
├── index.html
├── vite.config.js
├── starter.config.js
└── ...

🧪 Local Development

npm run dev

Then open:

http://localhost:3000/webflow

You’ll get:

  • ✅ CSS & JS loaders automatically generated
  • 📋 Copy-paste buttons for Webflow custom code
  • 🔁 Automatic fallback between localhost and jsDelivr

🚀 Production Build

npm run build

This will:

  • 🔧 Minify and copy CSS and JS files into dist/
  • 📦 Generate a manifest.json
  • 🧠 Inject loader snippets into dist/index.html

🔎 Output Structure

dist/
├── css/
│   ├── reset.css
│   ├── variables.css
│   ├── ...
│   └── main.css
├── scripts/
│   └── main.js
├── manifest.json
└── index.html (with injected loaders)

🧠 How It Works

  1. Tries to load assets from localhost
  2. If that fails (e.g. in Webflow), it falls back to GitHub CDN (via jsDelivr)
