Optimize Toolset

I’ve always been into building performant and accessible sites, but lately I’ve been taking it extremely seriously. So much so that I’ve been building a tool to help me optimize and monitor the sites that I build to make sure that I’m making an attempt to offer the best experience to those who visit them. If you’re into performant, accessible and SEO friendly sites, you might like it too! You can check it out at Optimize Toolset.

About

Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

If you’re interested in other things I’m working on, follow me on Twitter or check out the open source projects I’ve been publishing on GitHub.

I am also working on a Twitter bot for this site to tweet the most popular, newest, random packages from npm. Please follow that account now and it will start sending out packages soon–ish.

Open Software & Tools

This site wouldn’t be possible without the immense generosity and tireless efforts from the people who make contributions to the world and share their work via open source initiatives. Thank you 🙏

React + Tailwind admin component library with a prop-driven API.

Readme

koi-ui

A prop-driven React + Tailwind CSS component library built for admin/back-office systems. Behaviour is powered by Radix UI primitives; styling is themeable via CSS variables (light + dark).

📚 Docs & live demo: koi-design.github.io/koi-ui

72 components across forms, data, panels, overlays, navigation, feedback and media — plus a Form system with validation. Heavy components (charts, carousel, drag-and-drop, file upload) ship under subpaths as optional peer dependencies, so the core stays light.

Features

  • Prop-driven API — single component, many props (label, severity, size, loading, options, value/onChange), familiar to admin developers.
  • antd-style DataTablecolumns config with sorter, filters, render, rowSelection, expandable and pagination.
  • Form systemuseForm + Form + FormItem with validation rules, layouts and error display.
  • Theming — CSS variables for colors/radius/typography; ships a Tailwind preset. Light + dark.
  • Tree-shakeable — ESM + CJS, per-component exports, "use client" for Next.js RSC.
  • Light core — Radix is bundled; recharts / embla / dnd-kit / react-dropzone are optional peers behind subpaths.

Installation

pnpm add @koidesign/koi-ui
# peers
pnpm add react react-dom tailwindcss

Setup

1. Add the Tailwind preset and scan koi-ui's output

// tailwind.config.ts
import koiPreset from '@koidesign/koi-ui/preset'

export default {
  presets: [koiPreset],
  content: ['./src/**/*.{ts,tsx}', './node_modules/@koidesign/koi-ui/dist/**/*.js'],
}

2. Import the theme variables once at your app entry

import '@koidesign/koi-ui/styles.css'

3. Use components

import { Button, Input, DataTable } from '@koidesign/koi-ui'

export function Example() {
  return <Button label="Save" severity="success" icon={Save} />
}

Subpath imports (optional peers)

Heavy components live under subpaths. Install the matching peer only when you use them:

| Import | Components | Peer dependency | | --- | --- | --- | | @koidesign/koi-ui/chart | Chart | recharts | | @koidesign/koi-ui/carousel | Carousel | embla-carousel-react | | @koidesign/koi-ui/dnd | OrderList, PickList | @dnd-kit/* | | @koidesign/koi-ui/file | FileUpload | react-dropzone |

import { Chart } from '@koidesign/koi-ui/chart' // then: pnpm add recharts

Theming

Override any CSS variable to retheme (see @koidesign/koi-ui/styles.css for the full list):

:root {
  --koi-primary: 239 84% 67%; /* HSL channels */
  --koi-radius: 6px;
}
.dark {
  --koi-primary: 234 89% 74%;
}

Toggle dark mode by adding the dark class to <html>.
