Optimize Toolset

I’ve always been into building performant and accessible sites, but lately I’ve been taking it extremely seriously. So much so that I’ve been building a tool to help me optimize and monitor the sites that I build to make sure that I’m making an attempt to offer the best experience to those who visit them. If you’re into performant, accessible and SEO friendly sites, you might like it too! You can check it out at Optimize Toolset.

About

Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

If you’re interested in other things I’m working on, follow me on Twitter or check out the open source projects I’ve been publishing on GitHub.

I am also working on a Twitter bot for this site to tweet the most popular, newest, random packages from npm. Please follow that account now and it will start sending out packages soon–ish.

Open Software & Tools

This site wouldn’t be possible without the immense generosity and tireless efforts from the people who make contributions to the world and share their work via open source initiatives. Thank you 🙏

@konitif/workbench

Workspace composition, docking, registries and hosting contracts for KONITIF applications.

Installation

npm install @konitif/workbench

What it provides

  • Workspace, layout, panel and shell contracts.
  • Tool and widget admission, registries and hosting adapters.
  • Generic widget-zone visibility and placement-drop projection.
  • Generic tabbed-region visibility coordination for grouped widgets.
  • Atomic visibility normalization for internal tool docks sharing a region.
  • Root Widget admission that preserves restored region state.
  • Runtime lifecycle, checkpoint, recovery and observability contracts.
  • Project preflight and repository-quality contracts.
  • Explicit workspace persistence, synchronization and surface ports.
  • Content-addressed workspace usage bundles with strict host-context admission.
  • Abstract Experience revisions that bind presets by immutable content reference or by an explicit, traceable override.

Authority boundary

Workbench owns workspace and runtime coordination contracts. It does not own hosted domain modules, UI projections, model assets or application policy. Widgets and tools retain their own definitions; Workbench admits and hosts them. Physical implementations remain in @konitif/physics and are only exposed here through a compatibility entry.

Workspace presets remain authored source. A usage bundle records an immutable, content-addressed projection of a preset and its workspace, shell and focus fragments. Admission rejects altered content, incomplete fragments, incompatible host contexts and identity/revision conflicts.

An Experience is a Workbench authority: it records the stable identity and revision lineage of an experimentation arrangement without absorbing the domain that specializes it. A product can reference an authored workspace preset unchanged or declare an override with ordered transformation records; admission always verifies the referenced canonical content.

Workbench also owns the generic Experience lifecycle: an immutable revision opens into a draft bound to an explicit base, saving creates a new revision only when that base is still the current head, and archive, restore and tombstone transitions are explicit. The repository contract is storage-neutral; browser, remote, tenant and product-admission policies remain host adapters.

Workbench ships the generic browser adapter for that repository contract. A host selects its storage key and keeps product migration, metadata admission and domain specialization outside the adapter.

Quick start

import { createWorkspace, validateWorkspace } from '@konitif/workbench/hosting';

const workspace = createWorkspace();
const issues = validateWorkspace(workspace);

if (issues.length > 0) {
  console.error(issues);
}

Public entry points

| Entry | Purpose | | --- | --- | | @konitif/workbench | Complete Workbench contract surface. | | @konitif/workbench/hosting | Focused workspace hosting operations. | | @konitif/workbench/workspace-contracts | State-orchestration contracts without host adapters. | | @konitif/workbench/physics-runtime | Transitional forwarding entry for headless Physics contracts. |

Reference

See reference/ for the machine-readable capability catalog and authority diagrams. Layout state and executable composition remain distinct authorities even when projected by the same application shell.
