Optimize Toolset

I’ve always been into building performant and accessible sites, but lately I’ve been taking it extremely seriously. So much so that I’ve been building a tool to help me optimize and monitor the sites that I build to make sure that I’m making an attempt to offer the best experience to those who visit them. If you’re into performant, accessible and SEO friendly sites, you might like it too! You can check it out at Optimize Toolset.

About

Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

If you’re interested in other things I’m working on, follow me on Twitter or check out the open source projects I’ve been publishing on GitHub.

I am also working on a Twitter bot for this site to tweet the most popular, newest, random packages from npm. Please follow that account now and it will start sending out packages soon–ish.

Open Software & Tools

This site wouldn’t be possible without the immense generosity and tireless efforts from the people who make contributions to the world and share their work via open source initiatives. Thank you 🙏

@kovojs/icons

The Lucide icon set as native Kovo SVG components — the lucide-react equivalent for Kovo. One tree-shakeable component per icon, each on its own import subpath.

/** @jsxImportSource @kovojs/server */
import { ArrowRight } from '@kovojs/icons/arrow-right';
import { Search } from '@kovojs/icons/search';
import * as style from '@kovojs/style';

const styles = style.create({
  small: { width: 16, height: 16 },
  muted: { color: '#6b7280' },
});

// Decorative by default (aria-hidden):
<ArrowRight />

// Sized + tinted via the StyleX `style` channel (color flows through currentColor):
<Search style={[styles.small, styles.muted]} />

// Meaningful icon — `aria-label` promotes it to role="img":
<Search aria-label="Search" />

API

Every icon accepts IconProps:

  • style?: style.StyleInput — size (width/height) and color (color). There is no size prop; sizing goes through StyleX, consistent with @kovojs/ui.
  • class?: string — concatenated after the StyleX class (SPEC.md §4.6).
  • aria-label / title — promote a decorative icon to role="img".
  • id, role, and any aria-* / data-* — forwarded to the root <svg> (author-wins, SPEC.md §3). There is no React ref (SPEC.md §4.5); target via id/class/data-*.

Defaults match Lucide: 24×24, fill="none", stroke="currentColor", stroke-width="2". Color inherits from the surrounding text color.

Generated

Icon components are generated, not hand-authored. scripts/build-icons.mjs reads the pinned lucide-static dependency and emits one src/<name>.tsx per glyph, plus this package's exports map and its public-packages.json entry. Regenerate with:

pnpm --filter @kovojs/icons run build:icons

The generated src/*.tsx files are committed source. The icons.gen.test.ts determinism check fails if committed output drifts from a fresh generation.

Icons are derived from Lucide (ISC); see NOTICE.
