Optimize Toolset

I’ve always been into building performant and accessible sites, but lately I’ve been taking it extremely seriously. So much so that I’ve been building a tool to help me optimize and monitor the sites that I build to make sure that I’m making an attempt to offer the best experience to those who visit them. If you’re into performant, accessible and SEO friendly sites, you might like it too! You can check it out at Optimize Toolset.

About

Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

If you’re interested in other things I’m working on, follow me on Twitter or check out the open source projects I’ve been publishing on GitHub.

I am also working on a Twitter bot for this site to tweet the most popular, newest, random packages from npm. Please follow that account now and it will start sending out packages soon–ish.

Open Software & Tools

This site wouldn’t be possible without the immense generosity and tireless efforts from the people who make contributions to the world and share their work via open source initiatives. Thank you 🙏

rhwp v0.8.6: HWP/HWPX document renderer in WebAssembly

Upstream: https://github.com/edwardkim/rhwp

Use

Pinned to this version, from a CDN:

https://cdn.jsdelivr.net/npm/@kreijstal/[email protected]/<file>
https://unpkg.com/@kreijstal/[email protected]/<file>

Reproducing this build

Everything here is built from source; nothing prebuilt is repackaged. The script that produced these files is included as build/build.sh.

Toolchain

  • Rust, not emscripten: rustc 1.94.1 (e408947bf 2026-03-25) with its own wasm32-unknown-unknown target, cargo 1.94.1 (29ea6fb6a 2026-03-24)
  • wasm-bindgen CLI at exactly the version in rhwp's Cargo.lock (the script installs it with cargo install --locked)
  • wasm-opt -O2 from Binaryen wasm-opt version 132 (version_132-49-gd03c25ea43); Arch Linux

Sources

| Source | Pin | |---|---| | edwardkim/rhwp | tag v0.8.6 (commit f1f9c6ae58344ee9368996d3543f76b9345cf227) | | Rust crates | rhwp's Cargo.lock (cargo build --locked) |

Steps

With rustup and the wasm32 target (rustup target add wasm32-unknown-unknown):

mkdir rhwp-wasm && cd rhwp-wasm && cp /path/to/this/package/build/* .
./build.sh

The output lands in dist/. Compare it against the checksums below.

The comment at the top of the build script, verbatim:

Builds rhwp (https://github.com/edwardkim/rhwp, MIT) — the Rust HWP/HWPX parser
and SVG renderer behind @rhwp/core and nextcloud-hwp — for the browser, with
Rust's own wasm32-unknown-unknown target (no emscripten) and wasm-bindgen.
goldenlayouteditor serves ./dist at /rhwp-wasm (server.js, RHWP_WASM_DIR).

./build.sh clone (if needed) and build into ./dist

Output: dist/rhwp.js (wasm-bindgen ES module, --target web), dist/rhwp_bg.wasm
