Optimize Toolset

I’ve always been into building performant and accessible sites, but lately I’ve been taking it extremely seriously. So much so that I’ve been building a tool to help me optimize and monitor the sites that I build to make sure that I’m making an attempt to offer the best experience to those who visit them. If you’re into performant, accessible and SEO friendly sites, you might like it too! You can check it out at Optimize Toolset.

About

Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

If you’re interested in other things I’m working on, follow me on Twitter or check out the open source projects I’ve been publishing on GitHub.

I am also working on a Twitter bot for this site to tweet the most popular, newest, random packages from npm. Please follow that account now and it will start sending out packages soon–ish.

Open Software & Tools

This site wouldn’t be possible without the immense generosity and tireless efforts from the people who make contributions to the world and share their work via open source initiatives. Thank you 🙏

SiteBeacon MCP Server

Drive SiteBeacon's AI lead-gen engine from Claude Code, Claude Desktop, or any MCP-capable agent. This is a stdio MCP server that runs on your machine — every tool call hits the SiteBeacon API with your personal API key, and credits are charged exactly like web-app usage (same prices, same pools).

Full developer docs: https://www.sitebeacon.ai/developers

Tools

| Tool | Credits | What it does | |---|---|---| | search-leads | 2 (refunded on failure) | Category + location (any city or postal code, worldwide) → scored leads with website status, tech stack, GBP issues, ratings, phone numbers | | get-lead | free · 1 only if an email is found | Full detail for one lead, incl. contact-email enrichment (charge-on-success) | | analyze-lead | 1 | AI deficiency analysis + outreach email draft for one lead | | list-searches | free | Past searches and their stored results — reuse instead of re-searching | | save-lead | free | Save a search result into the CRM (required before find-contact / update-lead) | | list-crm-leads / get-crm-lead | free | Read the CRM: saved leads, statuses, outreach pipeline state, suppressed (do-not-contact) + per-channel send status. Filter list by suppressed / outreachStatus. | | update-lead | free | Update a lead's status, notes, or contact email | | set-lead-status | free | Record outreach status: sent / replied / no-thanks (permanent do-not-contact) / clear. Record no-thanks the moment a prospect objects. | | find-contact | 1 on email found · 2 social hunt (refunded on failure) | Email scrape of the lead's site, or identity-verified Facebook/Instagram discovery + a rendered honesty-gated first-touch draft. Meta sends stay human-executed. | | ai-visibility | 3 per category+city+language | Does an AI assistant recommend these businesses? Ask in any language (a Trieste customer asks in Italian — different answer set). Free re-runs for 30 days; stamps aiMentioned on matching saved leads | | website-audit | 2 | Full PageSpeed + AI audit with a sales pitch (slow — up to ~3 min) |

Setup

1. Get an API key — sign in at sitebeacon.ai, go to Account → API keys, and create one (sbk_…). It's shown once — copy it immediately.

2. Add the server to Claude Code:

claude mcp add sitebeacon -e SITEBEACON_API_KEY=sbk_your_key_here -- npx -y @kumokodo/sitebeacon-mcp

Or in .mcp.json / Claude Desktop config:

{
  "mcpServers": {
    "sitebeacon": {
      "command": "npx",
      "args": ["-y", "@kumokodo/sitebeacon-mcp"],
      "env": {
        "SITEBEACON_API_KEY": "sbk_your_key_here"
      }
    }
  }
}

That's it — ask your agent to "find 20 plumbers in Madrid with no website and analyze the top 3."

Environment

| Variable | Required | Default | Purpose | |---|---|---|---| | SITEBEACON_API_KEY | yes | — | Your personal key from Account → API keys | | SITEBEACON_API_URL | no | https://sitebeacon.ai | Override for testing (must be the apex host — www redirects strip auth) |

REST API

The MCP server is a thin wrapper over https://sitebeacon.ai/api/agent/* (Authorization: Bearer sbk_…) — you can call those endpoints directly from anything that speaks HTTP. Use the apex host (www 307-redirects and the redirect drops your Authorization header). Endpoint reference, credit costs, and rate limits: https://www.sitebeacon.ai/developers

Notes

  • Successful searches are stored server-side, so get-lead / analyze-lead / list-searches reuse results without re-paying.
  • Rate limits: 20 searches/min, 30 analyses/min, 100/min otherwise. No daily caps — your credit balance is the ceiling.
  • Keys are revocable any time from Account → API keys.

Developing

npm install
npm run build # emits dist/index.js
npm run dev # run from source
