Optimize Toolset

I’ve always been into building performant and accessible sites, but lately I’ve been taking it extremely seriously. So much so that I’ve been building a tool to help me optimize and monitor the sites that I build to make sure that I’m making an attempt to offer the best experience to those who visit them. If you’re into performant, accessible and SEO friendly sites, you might like it too! You can check it out at Optimize Toolset.

About

Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

If you’re interested in other things I’m working on, follow me on Twitter or check out the open source projects I’ve been publishing on GitHub.

I am also working on a Twitter bot for this site to tweet the most popular, newest, random packages from npm. Please follow that account now and it will start sending out packages soon–ish.

Open Software & Tools

This site wouldn’t be possible without the immense generosity and tireless efforts from the people who make contributions to the world and share their work via open source initiatives. Thank you 🙏

MCP server that lets AI assistants drive LAPLACE Persona over its plugin API

Readme

@laplace.live/persona-mcp

An MCP server that lets AI assistants — Claude Desktop, Claude Code, Cursor, Codex, and any other MCP client — drive a running LAPLACE Persona: switch scenes, load and place models, trigger expressions and motions, run automations, and look at the stage to check the result.

Setup

  1. In Persona, open Settings → Plugin API, turn on Enable API, and create an API key.
  2. Add the server to your MCP client with that key as PERSONA_TOKEN:
{
  "mcpServers": {
    "persona": {
      "command": "npx",
      "args": ["-y", "@laplace.live/persona-mcp"],
      "env": { "PERSONA_TOKEN": "sk-lp-v1-…" }
    }
  }
}

Claude Code: claude mcp add persona -e PERSONA_TOKEN=sk-lp-v1-… -- npx -y @laplace.live/persona-mcp.

Persona on another machine (with its LAN option on): set PERSONA_ADDRESS to host, host:port, or a full ws:// URL. Persona does not have to be running when the client starts; the server connects on the first tool call.

Tools

  • get_state, capture_stage — what is on stage, and a screenshot of it
  • activate_scene, create_scene, rename_scene, delete_scene
  • list_models, add_model, describe_model, remove_item, set_visible, set_placement, reset_placement
  • set_text — change what a text object reads, or show live text such as captions without saving it
  • set_expression, play_motion, stop_motion
  • list_automations, run_automation, trigger_hotkey
  • call_api — any method of the plugin API

capture_stage, stop_motion and set_text need a Persona new enough to support them — each says so when yours does not; every other tool works with any Persona that serves the plugin API.
