Optimize Toolset

I’ve always been into building performant and accessible sites, but lately I’ve been taking it extremely seriously. So much so that I’ve been building a tool to help me optimize and monitor the sites that I build to make sure that I’m making an attempt to offer the best experience to those who visit them. If you’re into performant, accessible and SEO friendly sites, you might like it too! You can check it out at Optimize Toolset.

About

Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

If you’re interested in other things I’m working on, follow me on Twitter or check out the open source projects I’ve been publishing on GitHub.

I am also working on a Twitter bot for this site to tweet the most popular, newest, random packages from npm. Please follow that account now and it will start sending out packages soon–ish.

Open Software & Tools

This site wouldn’t be possible without the immense generosity and tireless efforts from the people who make contributions to the world and share their work via open source initiatives. Thank you 🙏

⚡ Sonic Agent

A specialized AI agent for building WordPress authority websites at scale.

Founders cohort license required. This is a private package — install only works with a valid license key.

Install

npm install -g @lebtiga/sonic-agent

You'll be prompted for your license key during install. Format: SONIC-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX.

If the prompt is skipped (CI, non-interactive shell), run:

sonic activate

Quick start

sonic # start the agent in your project directory
sonic init # scaffold a new project workspace
sonic status # check install state + license
sonic update # pull latest core (your skills + user data are preserved)
sonic --help # all commands

Sonic checks for new versions in the background and shows a one-line notice at launch when an update is available — nothing ever installs without you running sonic update.

🗂️ One folder per client — non-negotiable

Sonic's memory is scoped to the workspace folder it's launched from. Running multiple clients from the same folder causes cross-contamination — Sonic will reference the wrong owner, wrong business, or details from a previous client.

Rule: every new client gets its own folder. Before you start work for a new client:

mkdir -p ~/clients/<client-slug>
cd ~/clients/<client-slug>
sonic

Each client gets clean memory and a clean USER.md automatically — zero cleanup needed.

Physical folder separation is the only reliable way to keep client context isolated. Treat this rule as non-negotiable.

What you get

Sonic installs to ~/.sonic/ with a 3-layer structure:

~/.sonic/
├── sonic-agent/ ← Core agent (refreshed on `sonic update`)
├── sonic-skills/ ← Your installed skills (never touched on update)
└── sonic-user/ ← Your custom skills, client configs, workspace
    ├── custom-skills/
    ├── client-configs/
    └── workspace/

Anything you put in sonic-skills/ or sonic-user/ is yours forever — sonic update will never overwrite it.

Custom skills

Drop your own skills in ~/.sonic/sonic-user/custom-skills/<skill-name>/SKILL.md (plus any supporting files). They load automatically every time Sonic starts, show up under Custom in the boot banner, and survive every sonic update. If a folder name clashes with a built-in Sonic skill, yours is skipped with a warning — rename it to load it.

Requires

  • Node.js >= 18
  • Claude Code installed (the CLI Sonic plugs into)

Support

License

Commercial — single seat per license key. Do not redistribute. SOPs and skills are watermarked with the buyer's email for leak detection.
