Optimize Toolset

I’ve always been into building performant and accessible sites, but lately I’ve been taking it extremely seriously. So much so that I’ve been building a tool to help me optimize and monitor the sites that I build to make sure that I’m making an attempt to offer the best experience to those who visit them. If you’re into performant, accessible and SEO friendly sites, you might like it too! You can check it out at Optimize Toolset.

About

Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

If you’re interested in other things I’m working on, follow me on Twitter or check out the open source projects I’ve been publishing on GitHub.

I am also working on a Twitter bot for this site to tweet the most popular, newest, random packages from npm. Please follow that account now and it will start sending out packages soon–ish.

Open Software & Tools

This site wouldn’t be possible without the immense generosity and tireless efforts from the people who make contributions to the world and share their work via open source initiatives. Thank you 🙏

Import a Leitwerk process workspace and Pi conversation into local Pi

Readme

Pi session transfer for Leitwerk

Copy a retained Leitwerk process workspace and its primary Pi conversation into local Pi. The import keeps the conversation tree and workspace files. Future turns use the local Pi installation's models, credentials, extensions, skills, and tools.

Install

pi install npm:@leitwerk-dev/pi-session-transfer

Update or remove it through Pi:

pi update npm:@leitwerk-dev/pi-session-transfer
pi remove npm:@leitwerk-dev/pi-session-transfer

Use

Create a link from More actions → Create local transfer link in Leitwerk. Then run in interactive Pi:

/leitwerk-transfer https://leitwerk.example/api/session-transfers/agt_…/trg_…#token=…

With no argument, the command asks for the link. It defaults the new destination to <current-directory>/<process-instance-id>. The destination must not exist. After validation, Pi reserves it exclusively; a directory created there during the transfer is preserved and the import fails.

The link is a bearer credential. Do not paste it into logs, tickets, or chat. Confirm the exact Leitwerk origin shown by Pi before claiming it. A transfer must start within one hour. Press Esc before the final local commit to cancel; the link can be explicitly retried while its grant remains valid. Pi waits for cancellation cleanup before closing the progress view.

What is copied

The transfer contains:

  • the complete portable process workspace, including nested Git directories, index and dirty state, untracked and ignored files, executable bits, timestamps, and safe relative symlinks;
  • the primary Pi JSONL conversation tree.

The transfer excludes Pi agent state, provider and repository credentials, dependency and mise caches outside the workspace, private Docker state, temporary process state, and all unrelated process-volume paths. Ownership, ACLs, extended attributes, devices, sockets, FIFOs, and hard-link identity are not preserved.

The importer accepts Pi session format V3 only. It verifies the compressed stream digest and byte count, validates Git branch and HEAD evidence, rewrites only the session cwd, removes source parentSession metadata, places the validated JSONL in Pi's normal session store without running Pi migration code, and then offers to switch to it.

Each import uses one mode-0600 recovery record. Verified entries move into the owned destination before the local session is written. The record then transitions atomically from temporary import state to a token-free completion receipt. Pi removes only stale incomplete paths that still carry the matching ownership marker. Completed records let acknowledgement and session switching be retried safely. A pending acknowledgement does not prevent opening the completed local session; use the same link to retry acknowledgement without copying again. An incomplete recovery record is retained if cleanup fails and cannot be overwritten by another import of the same link.

V1 supports interactive TUI mode only.
