Optimize Toolset

I’ve always been into building performant and accessible sites, but lately I’ve been taking it extremely seriously. So much so that I’ve been building a tool to help me optimize and monitor the sites that I build to make sure that I’m making an attempt to offer the best experience to those who visit them. If you’re into performant, accessible and SEO friendly sites, you might like it too! You can check it out at Optimize Toolset.

About

Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

If you’re interested in other things I’m working on, follow me on Twitter or check out the open source projects I’ve been publishing on GitHub.

I am also working on a Twitter bot for this site to tweet the most popular, newest, random packages from npm. Please follow that account now and it will start sending out packages soon–ish.

Open Software & Tools

This site wouldn’t be possible without the immense generosity and tireless efforts from the people who make contributions to the world and share their work via open source initiatives. Thank you 🙏

v0.1.0

CAIP (Cloud & AI Platform) Fluent UI React v9 theme — Cloud Blue / Cloud Teal primaries with AI accent palette, light + dark.

Readme

@lestermarch/caip-fluentui-theme

CAIP (Cloud & AI Platform) theme for Fluent UI React v9.

Cloud Blue and Cloud Teal as primary brand colours, AI Pink / Red / Yellow as accents, with adapted brighter ramps for dark mode. Includes the full Fluent Theme objects, semantic token map, and gradient CSS variables for hero / accent use outside Fluent components.

Note. CAIP source guidance names the palette and usage principles but does not provide exact hex values. The values shipped here are working implementation tokens aligned to familiar Microsoft / Azure / Fluent conventions. Treat them as practical defaults, not official Microsoft brand values.

Install

npm install @lestermarch/caip-fluentui-theme @fluentui/react-components

@fluentui/react-components and react are peer dependencies.

Use

import { FluentProvider } from "@fluentui/react-components";
import { caipLightTheme, caipDarkTheme } from "@lestermarch/caip-fluentui-theme";

export function App({ dark }: { dark: boolean }) {
  return (
    <FluentProvider theme={dark ? caipDarkTheme : caipLightTheme}>
      {/* your app */}
    </FluentProvider>
  );
}

Exports

| Export | What it is | |---|---| | caipLightTheme | Fluent Theme for light mode | | caipDarkTheme | Fluent Theme for dark mode | | caipSemanticTokens | { light, dark } with named colour tokens (primary, secondary, tertiary, semantic states, surfaces, text) | | caipGradients | { light, dark } with cloud, ai, stroke CSS gradient strings | | caipCssVariables | A CSS string defining --caip-gradient-* custom properties for both themes |

Gradients

Fluent does not have a native gradient token system, so gradients are exposed as CSS strings and a ready-to-paste CSS variable block:

import { caipCssVariables } from "@lestermarch/caip-fluentui-theme";

// Once at app entry:
const style = document.createElement("style");
style.textContent = caipCssVariables;
document.head.appendChild(style);

Then use them in your styles:

.hero-shape { background: var(--caip-gradient-cloud); }
.divider     { background: var(--caip-gradient-stroke); height: 2px; }

CAIP gradient rules:

  • Use gradients on hero shapes, accent rules, or illustrations — not as full-page backgrounds.
  • Use one gradient treatment per view.
  • Keep body text off gradients.

Design system this theme belongs to

The full CAIP web design system (govuk-frontend wrapper + Sass tokens + agent skills) lives at lestermarch/caip-labs-design-system. This package is the parallel-stack Fluent React adaptation of the same colour decisions.

Versioning

Semver. Breaking changes to token names or values bump the major.
