Optimize Toolset

I’ve always been into building performant and accessible sites, but lately I’ve been taking it extremely seriously. So much so that I’ve been building a tool to help me optimize and monitor the sites that I build to make sure that I’m making an attempt to offer the best experience to those who visit them. If you’re into performant, accessible and SEO friendly sites, you might like it too! You can check it out at Optimize Toolset.

About

Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

If you’re interested in other things I’m working on, follow me on Twitter or check out the open source projects I’ve been publishing on GitHub.

I am also working on a Twitter bot for this site to tweet the most popular, newest, random packages from npm. Please follow that account now and it will start sending out packages soon–ish.

Open Software & Tools

This site wouldn’t be possible without the immense generosity and tireless efforts from the people who make contributions to the world and share their work via open source initiatives. Thank you 🙏

Tiny TypeScript client for the LGO Labs Idempotency API. Stripe-style idempotency keys for AI agent tool calls.

Readme

@lgolabs/idempotency-client

TypeScript client for the LGO Labs Idempotency API.

Install

npm i @lgolabs/idempotency-client

Three patterns

A. One-shot (recommended)

We claim the key, call your URL once, cache the response, replay on every retry of the same key.

import { IdempotencyClient } from '@lgolabs/idempotency-client'

const idem = new IdempotencyClient({
  apiUrl: 'https://idempotency.lgolabs.com',
  apiKey: process.env.LGOLABS_KEY!,
})

const r = await idem.execute({
  key:        'send-welcome-email-user-42',
  targetUrl:  'https://your.api/send-email',
  payload: { to: '[email protected]', template: 'welcome' },
})

if (r.dedup === 'fresh') console.log('first time:', r.upstream.body)
else                     console.log('cached:',     r.upstream.body)

B. Wrap an in-process function

Same idempotency guarantee, but the operation runs in your process (useful when you can't expose target_url).

const r = await idem.runOnce({
  key: 'process-invoice-INV-001',
  fn: async () => await heavyComputation(),
})
// r.result is the cached value on retry

C. Manual claim/store (for advanced flows)

const c = await idem.claim({ key: 'k1' })
if (c.status === 'fresh') {
  const out = await yourOperation()
  await idem.store({ key: 'k1', lockToken: c.lock_token, result: out })
}

Errors

All non-2xx responses throw IdempotencyError with structured fields:

import { IdempotencyError } from '@lgolabs/idempotency-client'

try {
  await idem.execute({ ... })
} catch (e) {
  if (e instanceof IdempotencyError) {
    console.log(e.code, e.httpStatus, e.message)
  }
}

Pay-per-call (x402)

Pass a signed xPayment header value instead of apiKey. The API responds with 402 + payment requirements per x402.org, your wallet signs a USDC transfer on Base, you retry with the signed payload, and the request goes through. No signup.

const idem = new IdempotencyClient({
  apiUrl: 'https://idempotency.lgolabs.com',
  xPayment: signedX402Header, // alternative to apiKey
})

Free tier: 500 calls/day. Beyond that, 1000 atomic micro-USDC ($0.001) per call.
