Optimize Toolset

I’ve always been into building performant and accessible sites, but lately I’ve been taking it extremely seriously. So much so that I’ve been building a tool to help me optimize and monitor the sites that I build to make sure that I’m making an attempt to offer the best experience to those who visit them. If you’re into performant, accessible and SEO friendly sites, you might like it too! You can check it out at Optimize Toolset.

About

Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

If you’re interested in other things I’m working on, follow me on Twitter or check out the open source projects I’ve been publishing on GitHub.

I am also working on a Twitter bot for this site to tweet the most popular, newest, random packages from npm. Please follow that account now and it will start sending out packages soon–ish.

Open Software & Tools

This site wouldn’t be possible without the immense generosity and tireless efforts from the people who make contributions to the world and share their work via open source initiatives. Thank you 🙏

@liangai/pulpo-core

The orchestration daemon behind pulpo — a desktop shell that brings several coding-agent channels (Qoder, WorkBuddy, WorkBuddy AI, Claude, Codex, opencode, ZCode) under one interface. It only translates protocols: it never proxies a model API, never holds an API key, and never keeps a copy of a session (each agent's own store stays the single source of truth).

@liangai/pulpo-core is the process that speaks ACP (Agent Client Protocol): it starts each channel's agent, holds its sessions, reads capability descriptors from the agent's own handshake, keeps a thin session graph, reads transcripts through from native storage, picks a delivery tier for follow-up messages, and brokers one-level cross-channel delegation. Everything is exposed over a single JSON-RPC 2.0 method table.

Contract

PROTOCOL.md ships with this package and is the complete contract: transports, the full method table, notifications, error codes and worked examples. It is the only document a client needs.

Install

npm i -g @liangai/pulpo-core        # the `pulpo-core` daemon + CLI
npm i @liangai/pulpo-core           # ...or as a library

Run

pulpo-core                      # unix socket + ws://127.0.0.1:27183 (loopback only)
pulpo-core --ws-port 0          # random free port
pulpo-core --no-ws              # unix socket only
pulpo-core --help

| Environment variable | Meaning | |---|---| | PULPO_HOME | state and runtime root, default ~/.pulpo | | PULPO_SOCKET | full override of the unix socket path | | PULPO_WS_PORT | WebSocket port, 0 = random free port | | PULPO_ZCODE_ACP | path to the ZCode ACP adapter | | PULPO_COMPANION / PULPO_COMPANION_BIN | turn companion injection off / point at its bin |

Library

The daemon is also usable as a library — the package exports the kernel, descriptor, graph, read, delivery, broker and server modules:

import { PulpoDaemon } from "@liangai/pulpo-core";

const daemon = new PulpoDaemon({ version: "0.1.1" });
const addr = await daemon.start();
