Optimize Toolset

I’ve always been into building performant and accessible sites, but lately I’ve been taking it extremely seriously. So much so that I’ve been building a tool to help me optimize and monitor the sites that I build to make sure that I’m making an attempt to offer the best experience to those who visit them. If you’re into performant, accessible and SEO friendly sites, you might like it too! You can check it out at Optimize Toolset.

About

Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

If you’re interested in other things I’m working on, follow me on Twitter or check out the open source projects I’ve been publishing on GitHub.

I am also working on a Twitter bot for this site to tweet the most popular, newest, random packages from npm. Please follow that account now and it will start sending out packages soon–ish.

Open Software & Tools

This site wouldn’t be possible without the immense generosity and tireless efforts from the people who make contributions to the world and share their work via open source initiatives. Thank you 🙏

Self-evolution automation bundle — infrastructure only, plus the read-only maintenance_probe diagnostic; the shrink-path install (community build)

Readme

@lmzhen/dsh-evolution-host

Host-plane self-evolution infrastructure bundle for DeepSeek Harness — the shrink path: the family's automation without the memory/skill model tools.

⚠️ Mutually exclusive install target. dsh-evolution-host is the infrastructure-only bundle: no memory/skill model tools (its single model-facing surface is the read-only maintenance_probe diagnostic), and it must be paired with the Evolution agent preset to expose memory/skill_manage. It shares its infrastructure rows with @lmzhen/dsh-evolution-preset; do not add both bundles to the same profile — pick host + the Evolution agent preset (layered), or the one-click preset bundle.

Compatibility. Validated platform line: DSH 0.2.0-rc.2; the @deepseek-ai/dsh-* dependency window is ^0.2.0-rc.1. A prerelease range does not cross lines — install this bundle on that line only (family-level statement and history: the repository README's Compatibility section).

Model surface

  • Model-visible: the read-only maintenance_probe tool schema (from the evolution-maintenance/tools row) is its one model-visible artifact; everything else model-visible is owned by the packages that consume these services, and that schema is the only token this package adds.
  • Prompt prefix / KV cache: independent of request-prefix construction — it does not alter the assembled prompt; the assembled TOOL list gains the read-only maintenance_probe row (the former "does not alter the tool list" claim was false); family-level rules: packages/README.md §"Model-visible prompt prefix and the KV cache".
  • Mount it? yes — the infrastructure-only bundle; pair it with the Evolution agent preset; exclusive with evolution-all and the one-click preset.

Known limitations

  • Host-only by design. It provides no memory/skill write tools: the read-only maintenance_probe diagnostic is the one exception; pair it with the Evolution agent preset to expose memory/skill_manage.

Runtime invariant: No companion is published. The platform auto-assembles nothing and the family mounts no <pkg>/invariant cordis row, so a companion here would never execute (v37 S2.1 / I-3).

Notes and history

  • (V10-14 / H-02: the previous wording "pick host+preset" described the forbidden combination itself: "host + preset" IS the layered install, not an alternative to it.)
  • 0.3.54 (route B): the DEFAULT full bundle is now @lmzhen/dsh-evolution-all (infra + model tools, profile-root). This package is the shrink path: the same automation minus the memory/skill model tools. all, host and the one-click preset are three ALTERNATIVE install targets: mounting two of them fails loud at startup (invariants: already registered).
  • v20 correction: earlier revisions of this document claimed the bundle registers "NO model-facing tools" / "Zero direct token effect": that was inaccurate: the evolution-maintenance/tools row mounts the read-only maintenance_probe tool schema into every session. The claims below are now scoped to the prompt/assembly surface.
