Optimize Toolset

I’ve always been into building performant and accessible sites, but lately I’ve been taking it extremely seriously. So much so that I’ve been building a tool to help me optimize and monitor the sites that I build to make sure that I’m making an attempt to offer the best experience to those who visit them. If you’re into performant, accessible and SEO friendly sites, you might like it too! You can check it out at Optimize Toolset.

About

Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

If you’re interested in other things I’m working on, follow me on Twitter or check out the open source projects I’ve been publishing on GitHub.

I am also working on a Twitter bot for this site to tweet the most popular, newest, random packages from npm. Please follow that account now and it will start sending out packages soon–ish.

Open Software & Tools

This site wouldn’t be possible without the immense generosity and tireless efforts from the people who make contributions to the world and share their work via open source initiatives. Thank you 🙏

@logos-kit/client

Typed client for the Logos Execution Zone (LEZ): node reads, the LWS-0 wallet actions a dApp uses to ask the Logos Kit wallet for things, and lossless u128 JSON. The root entry is QML-safe (no BigInt, no Intl), so the same code runs in Node, browsers and Basecamp's Qt engine.

npm install @logos-kit/client @logos-kit/codec
# pnpm add @logos-kit/client @logos-kit/codec  ·  yarn add @logos-kit/client @logos-kit/codec  ·  bun add @logos-kit/client @logos-kit/codec

Read the chain

import { createClient, http, nodeActions } from '@logos-kit/client'

const node = createClient({
  transport: http('https://lez.84.46.247.92.sslip.io', { retryCount: 2 }),
  chain: 'lez:preview',
}).extend(nodeActions)

const height = await node.getBlockNumber()
const fees = await node.getFeeState()

The official LEZ sequencer sends no CORS headers, so from a browser only CORS-enabled endpoints work (the Logos Kit preview network is one). From Node there's no such limit.

Ask the wallet (inside a Basecamp app)

import { basecampModule, createClient, walletActions } from '@logos-kit/client'
import { nativeTransfer } from '@logos-kit/codec'

const wallet = createClient({
  transport: basecampModule({ callModuleAsync: logos.callModuleAsync }),
  chain: 'lez:preview',
}).extend(walletActions)

const session = await wallet.connect({ chains: ['lez:preview'] })
const from = session.accounts[0].address

// Resolves when the user approves in the wallet, not when the transaction lands.
const { handle } = await wallet.sendCall(from, nativeTransfer(from, to, '1000'))
const status = await wallet.waitForTransactionStatus(handle)
const done = status.outcome === 'success' // "unknown" is not success: re-check, then say "unconfirmed"

Keys never leave the wallet: an app proposes, the user approves, the wallet signs and proves. Private accounts reach an app only as opaque per-app handles.

@logos-kit/client/local adds raw-key signing for scripts and tests (Node only; never ship keys in an app).

Status

Preview (0.x). Built against LEZ v0.3.0-rc1. The browser and React Native connect kits are planned, not shipped.
