Optimize Toolset

I’ve always been into building performant and accessible sites, but lately I’ve been taking it extremely seriously. So much so that I’ve been building a tool to help me optimize and monitor the sites that I build to make sure that I’m making an attempt to offer the best experience to those who visit them. If you’re into performant, accessible and SEO friendly sites, you might like it too! You can check it out at Optimize Toolset.

About

Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

If you’re interested in other things I’m working on, follow me on Twitter or check out the open source projects I’ve been publishing on GitHub.

I am also working on a Twitter bot for this site to tweet the most popular, newest, random packages from npm. Please follow that account now and it will start sending out packages soon–ish.

Open Software & Tools

This site wouldn’t be possible without the immense generosity and tireless efforts from the people who make contributions to the world and share their work via open source initiatives. Thank you 🙏

@lorm/client

v0.1.19

Published

Client library for lorm - mobile-first framework

Readme

🌐 @lorm/client

Auto-typed HTTP client for consuming routes from your Lorm backend.

The @lorm/client package connects your mobile app (React Native, Expo) to the Lorm backend with full type safety — no manual typing, no REST boilerplate.

📦 Ultra-Lightweight: ~6KB optimized bundle with comprehensive tree-shaking 🚀 Production-Ready: Enterprise-grade build configuration and performance monitoring

📦 Installation

npm install @lorm/client

🚀 Quick Start

import { createClient } from "@lorm/client";

const client = createClient();

const users = await client.getAllUsers();

console.log(users); // "data from users"

🛠️ API

createClient()

Creates a new Lorm client instance.

Example:

const client = createClient();

✅ Type Safety

The client is auto-typed based on your Lorm backend routes (lorm.router.js). You get full autocomplete and validation on input/output.

client.getUserById({ id: "not-a-number" }); // ❌ Type error
client.getUserById({ id: 123 }); // ✅ Fully typed

Types are generated automatically when you run:

npx @lorm/cli dev

💡 Note: Use npx @lorm/cli for local execution. The CLI is designed for project-specific usage and doesn't require global installation.

They live in:

.lorm/types.d.ts

Make sure your frontend project has access to this file, or copy it into your app’s type declarations.

🧩 Framework Support

Works seamlessly with:

  • ✅ React Native
  • ✅ Expo

📦 Bundle Optimization

  • Ultra-Lightweight: ~6KB optimized bundle size
  • Tree-Shaking: Comprehensive dead code elimination
  • Minification: Production-ready compressed output
  • Zero Dependencies: Minimal runtime overhead for mobile apps

🐛 Troubleshooting

“Cannot read property query of undefined”

  • Check if the route name matches exactly
  • Make sure .lorm/types.d.ts exists and is correctly imported

"Types not found"

  • Run npx @lorm/cli dev to regenerate types
  • Check your TypeScript config paths
  • Validate your configuration with npx @lorm/cli check

"CLI command not found"

  • Make sure you're using npx @lorm/cli (not global installation)
  • Verify the CLI is available: npx @lorm/cli --version
