Optimize Toolset

I’ve always been into building performant and accessible sites, but lately I’ve been taking it extremely seriously. So much so that I’ve been building a tool to help me optimize and monitor the sites that I build to make sure that I’m making an attempt to offer the best experience to those who visit them. If you’re into performant, accessible and SEO friendly sites, you might like it too! You can check it out at Optimize Toolset.

About

Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

If you’re interested in other things I’m working on, follow me on Twitter or check out the open source projects I’ve been publishing on GitHub.

I am also working on a Twitter bot for this site to tweet the most popular, newest, random packages from npm. Please follow that account now and it will start sending out packages soon–ish.

Open Software & Tools

This site wouldn’t be possible without the immense generosity and tireless efforts from the people who make contributions to the world and share their work via open source initiatives. Thank you 🙏

@magic-ingredients/tiny-brain-core

Stateless AI assistant business logic for MCP (Model Context Protocol) servers.

Overview

This package provides the core business logic for the Tiny Brain AI assistant. It contains pure, stateless functions and services that can be used to build MCP servers or other AI assistant applications.

Features

  • 🧠 Chat Analysis - Intent classification, sentiment analysis, complexity scoring
  • 💾 Memory Management - Fact extraction, knowledge graphs, memory search
  • 👤 Persona System - Dynamic personality management and learning
  • 📋 Planning Tools - Task management, phase extraction, plan formatting
  • 💭 Sequential Thinking - Step-by-step reasoning with consistency checking
  • 🎯 Response Strategy - Content planning and structure optimization
  • Response Validation - Quality checks and validation

Installation

npm install @magic-ingredients/tiny-brain-core

Usage

Services

Services provide high-level APIs for complex operations:

import {
  PersonaService,
  MemoryService,
  PlanningService,
  ChatAnalysisService,
  ThinkingService
} from '@magic-ingredients/tiny-brain-core';

// Create a service with dependencies
const personaService = new PersonaService({
  storage: myStorageAdapter,
  logger: myLogger,
  userId: 'user-123',
  sessionId: 'session-456'
});

// Use the service
const result = await personaService.switchPersona({
  personaName: 'professional'
});

Modules

Modules are pure functions for specific operations:

import {
  IntentClassifier,
  FactExtractor,
  PhaseExtractor
} from '@magic-ingredients/tiny-brain-core';

// Classify user intent
const intent = await IntentClassifier.classify(
  "How do I set up authentication?"
);

// Extract facts from text
const facts = await FactExtractor.extract(
  "Python was created by Guido van Rossum in 1991"
);

Storage Interface

Implement the DeploymentStorageAdapter interface for your storage backend:

import { DeploymentStorageAdapter } from '@magic-ingredients/tiny-brain-core';

class MyStorageAdapter implements DeploymentStorageAdapter {
  // Implement required methods
  async getPersona(personaId: string) { /* ... */ }
  async storePersona(persona: PersonaProfile) { /* ... */ }
  // ... other methods
}

Architecture

  • Stateless - All functions are pure with no internal state
  • Service Pattern - High-level services coordinate module operations
  • Dependency Injection - Storage and logging injected via context
  • Type-Safe - Full TypeScript support with strict typing
  • Test-Driven - Comprehensive test coverage (68%+)
  • Platform Agnostic - Runs anywhere TypeScript runs
