Optimize Toolset

I’ve always been into building performant and accessible sites, but lately I’ve been taking it extremely seriously. So much so that I’ve been building a tool to help me optimize and monitor the sites that I build to make sure that I’m making an attempt to offer the best experience to those who visit them. If you’re into performant, accessible and SEO friendly sites, you might like it too! You can check it out at Optimize Toolset.

About

Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

If you’re interested in other things I’m working on, follow me on Twitter or check out the open source projects I’ve been publishing on GitHub.

I am also working on a Twitter bot for this site to tweet the most popular, newest, random packages from npm. Please follow that account now and it will start sending out packages soon–ish.

Open Software & Tools

This site wouldn’t be possible without the immense generosity and tireless efforts from the people who make contributions to the world and share their work via open source initiatives. Thank you 🙏

v0.1.0

Published

OpenCode plugin for analyzing local audio files through OpenRouter audio-capable chat models.

Readme

opencode-read-audio

OpenCode plugin that adds a read_audio tool for analyzing, describing, comparing, transcribing, or answering questions about local audio files with OpenRouter audio-capable chat models.

The MVP uses OpenRouter Chat Completions with raw base64 input_audio parts. It does not call direct audio URLs and does not use the transcription-only endpoint.

Install

After publishing/installing from npm, add the package to your OpenCode config:

{
  "$schema": "https://opencode.ai/config.json",
  "plugin": ["@makcimbx/opencode-read-audio"]
}

For local development, build the package and use an absolute file URL to dist/index.js instead:

{
  "$schema": "https://opencode.ai/config.json",
  "plugin": ["file:///absolute/path/to/opencode-read-audio/dist/index.js"]
}

Then quit and restart OpenCode. Plugin/config changes are loaded only at startup.

Build

bun install
bun run build

Authentication

Set an OpenRouter API key:

OPENROUTER_API_KEY=<openrouter-api-key>

Alternatively, configure the existing OpenCode openrouter provider:

{
  "$schema": "https://opencode.ai/config.json",
  "provider": {
    "openrouter": {
      "options": {
        "apiKey": "<openrouter-api-key>",
        "model": "xiaomi/mimo-v2.5",
        "baseURL": "https://openrouter.ai/api/v1"
      }
    }
  }
}

Optional environment variables:

OPENROUTER_MODEL=xiaomi/mimo-v2.5
OPENROUTER_BASE_URL=https://openrouter.ai/api/v1

Defaults:

  • Model: xiaomi/mimo-v2.5
  • Base URL: https://openrouter.ai/api/v1

The plugin also looks for OpenCode auth/config values under the openrouter provider when available.

Tool

Tool name: read_audio

Arguments:

  • files: one or more local audio file paths, relative to the OpenCode project directory unless absolute.
  • prompt: what to do with the audio files.
  • model: optional OpenRouter model override for this call.

Example:

read_audio({
  files: ["recordings/interview.wav", "recordings/noisy-take.mp3"],
  prompt: "Compare these recordings and summarize speech clarity, background noise, and notable differences.",
})

Supported input formats: wav, mp3, flac, m4a, ogg, webm, aac.

Model capabilities, accepted audio duration/size, and pricing are controlled by OpenRouter and the selected model/provider.
