Optimize Toolset

I’ve always been into building performant and accessible sites, but lately I’ve been taking it extremely seriously. So much so that I’ve been building a tool to help me optimize and monitor the sites that I build to make sure that I’m making an attempt to offer the best experience to those who visit them. If you’re into performant, accessible and SEO friendly sites, you might like it too! You can check it out at Optimize Toolset.

About

Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

If you’re interested in other things I’m working on, follow me on Twitter or check out the open source projects I’ve been publishing on GitHub.

I am also working on a Twitter bot for this site to tweet the most popular, newest, random packages from npm. Please follow that account now and it will start sending out packages soon–ish.

Open Software & Tools

This site wouldn’t be possible without the immense generosity and tireless efforts from the people who make contributions to the world and share their work via open source initiatives. Thank you 🙏

Maritime & Port Operations taxonomy for Mandaitor

Readme

@mandaitor/taxonomy-maritime

@mandaitor/taxonomy-maritime publishes the Maritime & Port Operations taxonomy for Mandaitor. It is designed for civil commercial maritime workflows such as vessel traffic coordination, berth planning, cargo-document handling, safety-management reporting, and disruption escalation.

What this package provides

This package exposes a complete industry taxonomy bundle for runtime registration in Mandaitor, including actions, resource scopes, constraint templates, and mandate templates.

| Component | Purpose | |---|---| | maritimeTaxonomy | Full taxonomy object for runtime registration | | MARITIME_ACTIONS | Action catalogue for vessel traffic, port, cargo, compliance, and incident workflows | | MARITIME_RESOURCES | Resource boundaries for vessels, port calls, cargo consignments, terminals, and operator-wide scopes | | MARITIME_CONSTRAINTS | Reusable time, throughput, escalation, and reporting guardrails | | MARITIME_TEMPLATES | Ready-made delegation patterns for common maritime operations |

Scope

The taxonomy is intentionally limited to civil and commercial maritime operations. It does not model naval warfare, offensive military activity, or unrestricted emergency command authority. Instead, it focuses on bounded operational delegation where auditability, human review, and safety-management controls remain important.

Installation

npm install @mandaitor/taxonomy-core @mandaitor/taxonomy-maritime

Usage

import { registerTaxonomy } from "@mandaitor/taxonomy-core";
import { maritimeTaxonomy } from "@mandaitor/taxonomy-maritime";

registerTaxonomy(maritimeTaxonomy);

Example action families

| Family | Examples | |---|---| | Vessel traffic and port coordination | maritime.vts.issue_navigation_advisory, maritime.port.assign_berth | | Cargo and terminal workflows | maritime.cargo.review_manifest, maritime.terminal.schedule_container_move | | Safety and compliance | maritime.safety.log_near_miss, maritime.compliance.file_pollution_prevention_report | | Incident response | maritime.incident.flag_navigation_risk, maritime.incident.activate_port_disruption_protocol |

Governance notes

High-risk and critical actions are modeled explicitly with elevated risk levels and, where appropriate, human-approval requirements. Broad operator-wide scopes should be paired with tight constraints such as active shift windows, escalation requirements, and environmental reporting policies.
