Optimize Toolset

I’ve always been into building performant and accessible sites, but lately I’ve been taking it extremely seriously. So much so that I’ve been building a tool to help me optimize and monitor the sites that I build to make sure that I’m making an attempt to offer the best experience to those who visit them. If you’re into performant, accessible and SEO friendly sites, you might like it too! You can check it out at Optimize Toolset.

About

Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

If you’re interested in other things I’m working on, follow me on Twitter or check out the open source projects I’ve been publishing on GitHub.

I am also working on a Twitter bot for this site to tweet the most popular, newest, random packages from npm. Please follow that account now and it will start sending out packages soon–ish.

Open Software & Tools

This site wouldn’t be possible without the immense generosity and tireless efforts from the people who make contributions to the world and share their work via open source initiatives. Thank you 🙏

Maritime & Port Operations taxonomy for Mandaitor

Readme

@mandaitor/taxonomy-maritime

Maritime & Port Operations taxonomy for Mandaitor — actions, resources, constraints, and mandate templates for vessel traffic services, port coordination, cargo management, safety reporting, and compliance workflows.

What this package provides

This package publishes the Maritime & Port Operations taxonomy for Mandaitor. It exposes the compiled taxonomy object together with its actions, resource patterns, constraint templates, and mandate templates so downstream services can register and validate this vertical at runtime.

The package is intentionally scoped to port operations, vessel traffic management, and maritime logistics. It covers the operational chain from vessel approach through cargo handling to departure, including safety and environmental compliance.

Installation

npm install @mandaitor/taxonomy-core @mandaitor/taxonomy-maritime

Usage

import { registerTaxonomy } from "@mandaitor/taxonomy-core";
import { maritimeTaxonomy } from "@mandaitor/taxonomy-maritime";

registerTaxonomy(maritimeTaxonomy);

Operational Scope

| Area | What it covers | | :--- | :--- | | Vessel Traffic Services (VTS) | Issuing navigation advisories and sequencing arrival slots | | Port Operations | Berth assignment and tug/pilot coordination | | Cargo Management | Manifest review, dangerous goods declarations, and container scheduling | | Safety | Near-miss logging and navigation risk flagging | | Compliance | Pollution prevention reporting, cyber risk controls, and port state inspections | | Incident Management | Navigation risk escalation and port disruption protocols | | Crew | Certification tracking and qualification verification |

Included Resource Scopes

| Resource Pattern | Purpose | | :--- | :--- | | maritime:port | Port-wide operational scope | | maritime:vessel | Specific vessel operations | | maritime:berth | Individual berth assignment scope | | maritime:cargo | Cargo and manifest management scope |

Governance Notes

The maritime taxonomy reflects governance themes from IMO conventions and port state control requirements. It distinguishes between routine operational actions (berth assignment, manifest review) and safety-critical actions (disruption protocol activation, navigation risk flagging) that require immediate human oversight.

Notes

This package is published from the mandaitor-taxonomies monorepo. The repository root contains the broader contribution guide, taxonomy lifecycle, and release workflow: https://github.com/C4RR13P0TT3R/mandaitor-taxonomies.
