Synchronous Watchdog Timer (SWDT)

Overview

The SWDT module incorporates the following features:

• Issues a System Reset If Its Counter Is Not Cleared Before It Expires
• 24-bit Configurable Expiration Value Based Upon Either
  • Counting executed processor instructions
  • Counting system clock cycles
• Software Enabled
• 16-bit Configurable Window Determines When The Counter Can Be Cleared
• Command Sequence Required to Clear Counter
• Operates Synchronously With System Clock Using The Same Clock Source
• Configuration Lock to Prevent Unwanted Changes
• Test Features for Functional Safety
  • Counter is readable
  • speed up testing, expiration can be accelerated
