Optimize Toolset

I’ve always been into building performant and accessible sites, but lately I’ve been taking it extremely seriously. So much so that I’ve been building a tool to help me optimize and monitor the sites that I build to make sure that I’m making an attempt to offer the best experience to those who visit them. If you’re into performant, accessible and SEO friendly sites, you might like it too! You can check it out at Optimize Toolset.

About

Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

If you’re interested in other things I’m working on, follow me on Twitter or check out the open source projects I’ve been publishing on GitHub.

I am also working on a Twitter bot for this site to tweet the most popular, newest, random packages from npm. Please follow that account now and it will start sending out packages soon–ish.

Open Software & Tools

This site wouldn’t be possible without the immense generosity and tireless efforts from the people who make contributions to the world and share their work via open source initiatives. Thank you 🙏

CLI for persistent AI memory: manage MemoryRouter vaults and safely import ChatGPT history

Readme

MemoryRouter CLI

Bring useful context from ChatGPT into MemoryRouter, then manage the persistent AI memory vault you use across supported AI tools.

Install

npm install --global @memoryrouter/cli
memoryrouter --help

You can also run a command without a global install:

npx @memoryrouter/cli --help

Create or choose a Memory Key in the MemoryRouter app, then authenticate:

memoryrouter auth <mk_key>

The CLI stores the key locally in ~/.memoryrouter/config.json. Do not commit that file or share your key.

Manage a vault

memoryrouter upload <path> # upload a file or directory
memoryrouter upload <path> --session work
memoryrouter status # show vault statistics
memoryrouter whoami # show masked authentication details
memoryrouter delete # clear the core vault (asks first)
memoryrouter delete --session work # clear one session vault

Supported uploads include plain text, Markdown, JSON, PDF, and DOCX files. Use a dedicated Memory Key when you want an isolated vault.

Import ChatGPT history

The advanced importer reads your official ChatGPT data export locally, shows an exact preview, and requires explicit approval before it writes. Imports are deterministic, resumable, and idempotent, so a committed batch is not duplicated or charged again when you resume.

memoryrouter chatgpt-import inspect ./chatgpt-export.zip
memoryrouter chatgpt-import prepare ./chatgpt-export.zip --out ./mr-import
memoryrouter chatgpt-import approve ./mr-import
memoryrouter chatgpt-import run ./mr-import
memoryrouter chatgpt-import status ./mr-import
memoryrouter chatgpt-import receipt ./mr-import

Resume an interrupted import with:

memoryrouter chatgpt-import resume ./mr-import

The importer does not automate ChatGPT login, export, email, or MFA. Download the official export yourself and point the CLI at the .zip or extracted folder. The local import workspace does not store your Memory Key or message plaintext.

Read the advanced ChatGPT import guide for the complete workflow and guarantees.

Use the same memory in AI tools

After importing or uploading context, connect supported tools to the same vault through the MemoryRouter MCP memory server. See the CLI documentation for command details and the MemoryRouter CLI page for current setup guidance.

Development

npm install
npm run build
npm run typecheck
npm test
npm pack --dry-run
