Optimize Toolset

I’ve always been into building performant and accessible sites, but lately I’ve been taking it extremely seriously. So much so that I’ve been building a tool to help me optimize and monitor the sites that I build to make sure that I’m making an attempt to offer the best experience to those who visit them. If you’re into performant, accessible and SEO friendly sites, you might like it too! You can check it out at Optimize Toolset.

About

Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

If you’re interested in other things I’m working on, follow me on Twitter or check out the open source projects I’ve been publishing on GitHub.

I am also working on a Twitter bot for this site to tweet the most popular, newest, random packages from npm. Please follow that account now and it will start sending out packages soon–ish.

Open Software & Tools

This site wouldn’t be possible without the immense generosity and tireless efforts from the people who make contributions to the world and share their work via open source initiatives. Thank you 🙏

@mercury-fx/analytics

v3.0.0

Published

Mercury Analytics' browser client: the dashboard's islands on Mercury UI and hyperscript, with Effector stores per mount, mounted by Live Mercury's MercuryHook.

Readme

@mercury-fx/analytics

The browser client for Mercury Analytics. It renders the dashboard's islands on Mercury UI (Card, Stat, Chart) and Mercury hyperscript, gives each mount its own forked Effector scope, and mounts them through Live Mercury's MercuryHook. It uses no React and no Tailwind. The server half is echo/apps/mercury_analytics, whose LiveView components render <.island name="...">.

import { analyticsHooks } from "@mercury-fx/analytics";

new LiveSocket("/live", Socket, { hooks: { ...analyticsHooks() } });

analyticsHooks() returns MercuryHook. It also returns the same hook as ReactHook, because live_mercury's server helper still names it that until mercury.80 I1. The dashboard page loads dist-islands/islands.js (pnpm build:islands), one classic script that sets window.MercuryAnalyticsHooks, and the mercury_analytics layout inlines it.

| Island | State | | --- | --- | | SingleStat | Ported: Stat in a raised Card, with the figure and range from statData and dateRange | | VisitsChart | Ported: visits and unique visitors per period on Chart. A bad count renders as an alert, never as a wrong curve | | RequestsChart, StatusChart, DeviceChart, PopularChart, ResChart, DateRangePicker, ColorSelector, ThemeToggle | Named placeholders: they render a Card, not the chart yet |

The state lives in model.ts. The units are defined once: propsReceived carries every LiveView update into the mount's scope, and $rows, $figure, $range and $updates derive what the islands show. scoped(Component) forks one scope per mount and delivers each new props object to it before the render.

Tests: CI=1 pnpm exec vitest run --project jsdom-hyperscript packages/mercury-analytics. The geometry's must-fail row refuses a count that isn't a finite, non-negative number.

The islands are ported from phoenix_analytics 0.4.2's React components (Apache-2.0, @lalabuy948); see LICENSE.
