Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

Health Monitor

A lightweight health check and event loop monitoring library for Node.js applications.

Features

new HealthMonitor(config?)

  • config.interval: Health check interval (ms). Default 3000.
  • config.timeout: Default timeout for each indicator (ms). Default 1000.

monitor.register(indicator)

Registers a new health indicator. Supports method chaining.

  • indicator.name: Component name (identifier).
  • indicator.check: Async function to check status. Considered 'down' if Promise rejects.
  • indicator.timeout: (Optional) Timeout for this indicator (ms).

monitor.start()

Starts periodic health checks.

monitor.stop()

Stops health checks.

monitor.getStatus()

Returns the current health status.

Field Descriptions

  • lag: Indicates the delay in the event loop in milliseconds. High lag suggests the main thread is busy.
  • stalled detection: If the health check loop stops updating for more than 3x the configured interval (potentially due to severe event loop blocking), the monitor automatically reports a down status with Health check loop is stalled.

필드 설명

  • lag: 이벤트 루프 지연 시간(ms)을 나타냅니다. 이 값이 높으면 메인 스레드가 차단된(busy) 상태일 수 있습니다.
  • 루프 정지 감지 (Stalled Detection): 헬스 체크 루프가 설정된 interval의 3배 이상 시간 동안 업데이트되지 않으면(심각한 이벤트 루프 지연 등으로 인해), 모니터는 Health check loop is stalled 에러와 함께 자동으로 down 상태를 반환합니다.
