Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

@milesnl/ptx-core

Library for reading data from Paratext project folders: scripture text (USFM), AKG-style interlinear glosses, and the Biblical Terms list. It is the data layer used by the @milesnl/ptx-mcp MCP server.

Install

npm install @milesnl/ptx-core

Requires Node.js 20.11 or later. ESM only.

Usage

import { resolveProjectsRoot, listProjects, getScripture } from "@milesnl/ptx-core"

const root = resolveProjectsRoot("/path/to/My Paratext 9 Projects")
console.log(listProjects(root))

Everything exported from the modules below is available from the package root: discovery (project folders), scripture, usfmBook, interlinear, books, and biblicalTerms.

The Biblical Terms functions take the path to BiblicalTerms.xml; use resolveBiblicalTermsPath(paratextInstallDir?) to locate it.
