Optimize Toolset

I’ve always been into building performant and accessible sites, but lately I’ve been taking it extremely seriously. So much so that I’ve been building a tool to help me optimize and monitor the sites that I build to make sure that I’m making an attempt to offer the best experience to those who visit them. If you’re into performant, accessible and SEO friendly sites, you might like it too! You can check it out at Optimize Toolset.

About

Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

If you’re interested in other things I’m working on, follow me on Twitter or check out the open source projects I’ve been publishing on GitHub.

I am also working on a Twitter bot for this site to tweet the most popular, newest, random packages from npm. Please follow that account now and it will start sending out packages soon–ish.

Open Software & Tools

This site wouldn’t be possible without the immense generosity and tireless efforts from the people who make contributions to the world and share their work via open source initiatives. Thank you 🙏

@mk-kit/mcp

v0.60.2

Published

MCP server for @mk-kit/ui — lets AI coding assistants look up every component, directive, service and helper of the mk-kit Angular library (inputs, outputs, methods, import paths, docs links).

Readme

@mk-kit/mcp

MCP server for @mk-kit/ui — gives Claude Code, Cursor, Copilot, Windsurf, Zed and any other MCP client an exact, searchable reference for every component, directive, service, helper and type of the mk-kit Angular library: selectors, inputs with types and defaults, outputs, methods, import paths and links to the docs page. No more guessed input names.

The data is generated from the library sources on every release (mk-kit.dev/api.json) and bundled with the package; on start the server fetches a newer snapshot from mk-kit.dev when one exists, so it stays current between package updates.

Setup

Claude Code

claude mcp add mk-kit -- npx -y @mk-kit/mcp

Cursor / Windsurf / Claude Desktop / VS Code — add to the MCP config:

{
  "mcpServers": {
    "mk-kit": {
      "command": "npx",
      "args": ["-y", "@mk-kit/mcp"]
    }
  }
}

Runs over stdio; nothing to host. Node ≥ 20.

Tools

| Tool | What it does | |------|--------------| | search_mk_kit | Find exports by name, selector (mk-select, mkButton) or free text ("date range", "toast", "csv export"); optional kind / entry filters. | | get_mk_kit_export | Full API of one export as Markdown — import, selector, description + example, inputs, outputs, methods, docs link. Accepts class names or selectors. | | list_mk_kit_exports | Browse every entry point, or one entry point / kind, with one-line summaries. | | get_mk_kit_overview | What mk-kit is, install + setup conventions, links to every docs page (the site's llms.txt). | | scaffold_mk_kit | Paste-ready, entity-aware code for the first patterns an app builds: crud-schematic (the ng g @mk-kit/ui:crud command), table-page, dynamic-form, dialog, embed. Takes entity and a fields spec ("name!:string,price:currency,status:select=draft|published"). |

Resources: mk-kit://llms.txt, mk-kit://llms-full.txt, mk-kit://api.json.

Environment

| Variable | Effect | |----------|--------| | MK_KIT_MCP_OFFLINE=1 | Never fetch; use the bundled snapshot only. | | MK_KIT_SITE | Base URL to fetch api.json, llms.txt, llms-full.txt from (default https://mk-kit.dev). |

Without MCP

The same data is plain files: https://mk-kit.dev/llms.txt (index), https://mk-kit.dev/llms-full.txt (whole API as Markdown) and https://mk-kit.dev/api.json. Paste a URL into any assistant that can fetch.
