Optimize Toolset

I’ve always been into building performant and accessible sites, but lately I’ve been taking it extremely seriously. So much so that I’ve been building a tool to help me optimize and monitor the sites that I build to make sure that I’m making an attempt to offer the best experience to those who visit them. If you’re into performant, accessible and SEO friendly sites, you might like it too! You can check it out at Optimize Toolset.

About

Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

If you’re interested in other things I’m working on, follow me on Twitter or check out the open source projects I’ve been publishing on GitHub.

I am also working on a Twitter bot for this site to tweet the most popular, newest, random packages from npm. Please follow that account now and it will start sending out packages soon–ish.

Open Software & Tools

This site wouldn’t be possible without the immense generosity and tireless efforts from the people who make contributions to the world and share their work via open source initiatives. Thank you 🙏

MCP server for the Baserow API (self-hosted no-code database)

Readme

Baserow MCP Server

npm version License: MIT

MCP (Model Context Protocol) server for Baserow — works with cloud Baserow as well as self-hosted instances.

Lets an MCP client (Claude Desktop, Claude Code, Cursor, etc.) interact with your Baserow databases : list databases, fetch fields, query rows, create / update / delete rows.

Installation

No install needed — run on demand via npx. The MCP client launches it as a child process and pipes JSON-RPC over stdio.

Configuration

Two environment variables are required by the server :

| Variable | Description | Example | |----------|-------------|---------| | BASEROW_URL | Base URL of your Baserow instance (no trailing slash) | https://api.baserow.io or https://baserow.example.com | | BASEROW_API_TOKEN | Database token created in Baserow → Settings → API tokens | aBc123... |

Claude Code (or Claude Desktop)

Edit your MCP servers configuration (~/.claude.json for Claude Code, ~/Library/Application Support/Claude/claude_desktop_config.json for Claude Desktop) and add :

{
  "mcpServers": {
    "baserow": {
      "command": "npx",
      "args": ["-y", "@mnicole-dev/baserow-mcp-server"],
      "env": {
        "BASEROW_URL": "https://baserow.example.com",
        "BASEROW_API_TOKEN": "your-api-token"
      }
    }
  }
}

Restart your MCP client.

Cursor

Add to .cursor/mcp.json (project-level) or global Cursor settings :

{
  "mcpServers": {
    "baserow": {
      "command": "npx",
      "args": ["-y", "@mnicole-dev/baserow-mcp-server"],
      "env": {
        "BASEROW_URL": "https://baserow.example.com",
        "BASEROW_API_TOKEN": "your-api-token"
      }
    }
  }
}

Available tools

| Tool | Description | |------|-------------| | list-databases | List all databases the token has access to | | list-tables | List tables for a given database | | get-fields | Get the fields (columns) of a table | | list-rows | List rows of a table with pagination + filters | | get-row | Fetch a single row by ID | | create-row | Create a new row | | update-row | Update an existing row | | delete-row | Delete a row |

All tools accept friendly arguments validated via Zod.

Local development

git clone https://github.com/mnicole90/baserow-mcp-server.git
cd baserow-mcp-server
npm install
npm run build

To run locally with an MCP client during development :

node dist/index.js

The server communicates over stdio.
