Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

TMDB MCP

Search movies, TV shows, and trending titles through The Movie Database. Requires a free TMDB key set as TMDB_API_KEY.

This file is self contained. It reads public data only and never writes to the machine. All output is bounded and honest about what could not be fetched.

  • search_movie Search movies by title.

  • search_tv Search TV shows by title.

  • trending Trending movies and TV shows this week.

Usage

npm install
npm run build
node dist/index.js

Set the TMDB_API_KEY environment variable to your free key from the TMDB website. Without a key the server returns a clear error.
