Optimize Toolset

I’ve always been into building performant and accessible sites, but lately I’ve been taking it extremely seriously. So much so that I’ve been building a tool to help me optimize and monitor the sites that I build to make sure that I’m making an attempt to offer the best experience to those who visit them. If you’re into performant, accessible and SEO friendly sites, you might like it too! You can check it out at Optimize Toolset.

About

Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

If you’re interested in other things I’m working on, follow me on Twitter or check out the open source projects I’ve been publishing on GitHub.

I am also working on a Twitter bot for this site to tweet the most popular, newest, random packages from npm. Please follow that account now and it will start sending out packages soon–ish.

Open Software & Tools

This site wouldn’t be possible without the immense generosity and tireless efforts from the people who make contributions to the world and share their work via open source initiatives. Thank you 🙏

@multiplayer-agent-sdk/mcp-server

v0.1.0

Published

MCP server exposing grounded, read-only guidance about the Multiplayer Agent SDK's adapter interface to coding agents (Claude Code, Cursor, etc).

Readme

@multiplayer-agent-sdk/mcp-server

An MCP (Model Context Protocol) server that gives a coding agent (Claude Code, Cursor, etc.) grounded, authoritative guidance about the Multiplayer Agent SDK's adapter interface — so it doesn't have to guess or hallucinate the RoomDefinition contract or which backend adapters exist.

MVP skeleton. This package exposes exactly two read-only tools and does no game-hosting or state management itself. It is intentionally minimal — the "Draft the MCP server skeleton and confirm it loads correctly in Claude Code and Cursor" checklist item, not a full-featured server. More capability (additional tools, resources, prompts) is expected post-MVP.

Tools

  • list_adapters — no input. Returns a JSON list of backend adapters (partykit, colyseus, supabase) and whether each is available now or planned post-MVP.
  • get_room_definition_guide — no input. Returns a markdown guide containing the frozen RoomDefinition/PlayerInfo/RoomOptions TypeScript interfaces (copied verbatim from packages/core/src/types.ts), a complete minimal example (a counter room), and a pointer to @multiplayer-agent-sdk/adapter-partykit's createPartyKitServer / connectPartyKitClient for wiring it up.

Running it standalone

npm run build
node dist/index.js

The server communicates over stdio (no HTTP port). Running it directly from a terminal will appear to hang with no output — that's expected, since it's waiting for an MCP client to speak the protocol on stdin. A clean start (no thrown error, no immediate exit) is the "loads correctly" bar. Press Ctrl+C to stop it.

Using it from Claude Code / Cursor

Either tool can be pointed at this server as a local MCP server via its node dist/index.js entrypoint (or the multiplayer-agent-sdk-mcp bin once this package is installed). Exact registration steps (Claude Code's .mcp.json / claude mcp add, Cursor's MCP settings) are host-specific and out of scope for this package's README.

Development

npm run build       # tsup -> dist/
npm test            # vitest run
npm run typecheck # tsc --noEmit
