Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

API Genie CLI

API Genie CLI is a multi-function tool for working with OpenAPI specs.

npx @mykulyak/api-genie --help

It also installs apigenie-generator, which generates clients, servers, documentation and data from OpenAPI and AsyncAPI documents:

npx --package @mykulyak/api-genie apigenie-generator client fetch openapi.yaml --output client

and apigenie-server, a mock server and validating proxy for OpenAPI, AsyncAPI, GraphQL and gRPC APIs:

npx --package @mykulyak/api-genie apigenie-server openapi.yaml

and apigenie-catalog, which lists the OpenAPI, AsyncAPI, Protobuf and GraphQL specifications of a git repository and keeps their names and owners in apigenie.yaml (experimental):

npx --package @mykulyak/api-genie apigenie-catalog list

and apigenie-mcp, which serves lint, breaking-change checks, changelogs, formatting, bundling and outlines of API descriptions to coding agents over the Model Context Protocol:

npx --package @mykulyak/api-genie apigenie-mcp --help

The package runs a native binary that npm installs from a platform-specific optional dependency (@mykulyak/api-genie-darwin-arm64, -linux-x64 or -win32-x64), so it has no install scripts. Do not install it with --omit=optional.
