Optimize Toolset

I’ve always been into building performant and accessible sites, but lately I’ve been taking it extremely seriously. So much so that I’ve been building a tool to help me optimize and monitor the sites that I build to make sure that I’m making an attempt to offer the best experience to those who visit them. If you’re into performant, accessible and SEO friendly sites, you might like it too! You can check it out at Optimize Toolset.

About

Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

If you’re interested in other things I’m working on, follow me on Twitter or check out the open source projects I’ve been publishing on GitHub.

I am also working on a Twitter bot for this site to tweet the most popular, newest, random packages from npm. Please follow that account now and it will start sending out packages soon–ish.

Open Software & Tools

This site wouldn’t be possible without the immense generosity and tireless efforts from the people who make contributions to the world and share their work via open source initiatives. Thank you 🙏

🌌 ZeroGravity OS

Autonomous Supercoder OS • Zero-Default MCPs • 28 Workflows

Package Size MCP Servers License: MIT

Install • Workflows • MCPs • Memory • Developer

⚡ Install

# Deploy into current workspace
npx @nandhaalagesan/zerogravity

# Deploy into a specific project
npx @nandhaalagesan/zerogravity /path/to/my-project -y

# Deploy everywhere (workspace + global config)
npx @nandhaalagesan/zerogravity --all -y

# Update existing workspace (preserves your memory & configs)
npx @nandhaalagesan/zerogravity update

# Or install globally
npm install -g @nandhaalagesan/zerogravity

What it does: Copies the .agents/ framework into your project root. That's it — no daemons, no config files to manage, no build steps.

Direct copy

cp -r .agents /path/to/any/project/

Self-extracting installer

./install.sh --local -y    # Workspace only
./install.sh --global -y   # Global (~/.gemini/config/)
./install.sh --all -y      # Both

## 🔬 Harness² Recursive Agent Harnessing

Built on Google Research's *Harness²: Recursive Agent Harnessing for an Open World* ([arXiv:2610.14224](https://arxiv.org/abs/2610.14224)), ZeroGravity OS exposes and recursively optimizes the **8 editable harness components** around the model:

| Component | Identifier | Location | Levers |
|---|---|---|---|
| **c1** | System Prompt | `AGENTS.md` | Root agent definition and high-level execution directives |
| **c2** | Guardrails | `.agents/rules/` | Behavioral fences, effort levels (`core.md`, `effort.md`) |
| **c3** | Memory | `.agents/memory/` | Durable invariants, gotchas, anti-patterns, learned strategies |
| **c4** | Tool Guidance | `.agents/mcp_config.json` | MCP server registry, parameter contracts, tool routing |
| **c5** | Subagents | `.agents/plugins/agent-skills/agents/` | Persona specialists running in isolated sub-contexts |
| **c6** | Skills | `.agents/skills/` | On-demand procedural workflows and domain playbooks |
| **c7** | Scripts | `.agents/scripts/` | Deterministic CLI tools (`harness.py`, `analyze.py`, `learn.py`) |
| **c8** | Plugins & Hooks | `.agents/hooks/` + `.agents/plugins/` | Runtime lifecycle interceptors and middleware bundles |

### 🔄 Propose–Probe–Compose (PPC) Loop
When facing hard tasks or failure loops, the agent recursively mutates its harness:
1. **Propose**: Generate paired Invariant (`INV`) and Domain (`DOM`) candidate mutations.
2. **Probe**: Execute candidate configurations to establish behavioral contrast (zero ground truth needed).
3. **Compose**: Synthesize winning modifications into the live `.agents/` environment.
4. **Reflect**: Record adopted configurations and lessons into the persistent **Experience Ledger** (`.agents/memory/harness_ledger.json`).

```bash
# Check 8-component status and character budget
zg harness status
# Generate contrastive PPC proposals for a task
zg harness propose --task "Refactor auth middleware to use OAuth2" --record
# Inspect Experience Ledger history
zg harness ledger summary
🔌 MCP Servers
12 verified servers, zero running at startup. Enable what you need:
npx @nandhaalagesan/zerogravity mcp list              # Browse catalog (or 'zg mcp list')
npx @nandhaalagesan/zerogravity mcp enable <name>     # Activate a server
npx @nandhaalagesan/zerogravity mcp disable <name>    # Deactivate
Or via slash command in chat: /mcp enable playwright
🧠 Memory Tree
Persistent knowledge lives in .agents/memory/ and survives across sessions and updates:
.agents/memory/
├── decisions.md        # Architecture decisions and design patterns
├── gotchas.md          # Framework quirks, known bugs, workarounds
├── goals.md            # Active milestones and deliverables
└── anti_patterns.json  # Failed approaches to never repeat
Learning is automatic — on every correction, error recovery, or success, the agent distills lessons into memory without manual intervention.
