Optimize Toolset

I’ve always been into building performant and accessible sites, but lately I’ve been taking it extremely seriously. So much so that I’ve been building a tool to help me optimize and monitor the sites that I build to make sure that I’m making an attempt to offer the best experience to those who visit them. If you’re into performant, accessible and SEO friendly sites, you might like it too! You can check it out at Optimize Toolset.

About

Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

If you’re interested in other things I’m working on, follow me on Twitter or check out the open source projects I’ve been publishing on GitHub.

I am also working on a Twitter bot for this site to tweet the most popular, newest, random packages from npm. Please follow that account now and it will start sending out packages soon–ish.

Open Software & Tools

This site wouldn’t be possible without the immense generosity and tireless efforts from the people who make contributions to the world and share their work via open source initiatives. Thank you 🙏

v2.0.0

Published

Neptune Odyssey React Native layer — a theme provider, a hook, and themed react-native primitives resolved from the framework-agnostic token core.

Readme

@neptune.fintech/react-native-ui

React Native layer for Neptune Odyssey by Neptune.Fintech — a <NeptuneProvider>, a useNeptuneTheme hook, and a small set of themed components built from React Native primitives (View / Text / Pressable / StyleSheet).

React Native has no DOM, CSS variables, or custom elements, so — unlike the web layers — this package resolves a plain NeptuneTheme object from @neptune.fintech/tokens buildTheme() and provides it through React context. Components read every color, radius, and font from that theme. Same brandprint ⇒ same theme, on every platform.

Source-available under the Neptune Odyssey Community License v1.0 (see LICENSE).

Install

npm i @neptune.fintech/react-native-ui react react-native

react and react-native are peer dependencies — bring your own.

Theme three ways

input accepts any of the three Neptune Odyssey entry points:

  1. a reference brand id"neptune" | "triton" | "nereid" | "proteus"
  2. a config object — a full BrandprintConfig
  3. a brandprint string"NO1-…"

Use

import {
  NeptuneProvider,
  NeptuneBalanceCard,
  NeptuneButton,
  NeptuneTransactionRow,
  NeptuneText,
} from "@neptune.fintech/react-native-ui";

export function App() {
  return (
    <NeptuneProvider input="triton" mode="light" dir="ltr">
      <NeptuneBalanceCard label="Available balance" amount="12,480.50" currency="LYD" />
      <NeptuneButton variant="filled" label="New transfer" onPress={() => {}} />
      <NeptuneText variant="title">Recent activity</NeptuneText>
      <NeptuneTransactionRow title="Coffee" subtitle="Today" amount="-3.50" />
      <NeptuneTransactionRow title="Salary" subtitle="Jun 27" amount="+1,200.00" credit />
    </NeptuneProvider>
  );
}

Read the theme yourself

import { useNeptuneTheme, radius, colorOf } from "@neptune.fintech/react-native-ui";
import { View } from "react-native";

function Panel() {
  const theme = useNeptuneTheme();
  return (
    <View
      style={{
        backgroundColor: colorOf(theme, "surface-container"),
        borderRadius: radius(theme, "lg"),
      }}
    />
  );
}

useNeptuneTheme() throws if called outside a <NeptuneProvider>.

Brandprint

<NeptuneProvider input="NO1-AYB4AKKeeABWDBIaIiw4B_YBAAABAQEBAQAAyA" mode="dark" dir="rtl">
  <App />
</NeptuneProvider>

mode is light | dark; dir is ltr | rtl. Logical spacing (marginStart/End, writingDirection) means components mirror correctly under RTL.
