Optimize Toolset

I’ve always been into building performant and accessible sites, but lately I’ve been taking it extremely seriously. So much so that I’ve been building a tool to help me optimize and monitor the sites that I build to make sure that I’m making an attempt to offer the best experience to those who visit them. If you’re into performant, accessible and SEO friendly sites, you might like it too! You can check it out at Optimize Toolset.

About

Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

If you’re interested in other things I’m working on, follow me on Twitter or check out the open source projects I’ve been publishing on GitHub.

I am also working on a Twitter bot for this site to tweet the most popular, newest, random packages from npm. Please follow that account now and it will start sending out packages soon–ish.

Open Software & Tools

This site wouldn’t be possible without the immense generosity and tireless efforts from the people who make contributions to the world and share their work via open source initiatives. Thank you 🙏

MCP server for NEURA Compute — OpenAI-compatible inference that agents can pay for on-chain by burning $NEURA (Base mainnet).

Readme

@neuracomputes/mcp — NEURA Compute MCP server

OpenAI-compatible inference for MCP-capable agents — with the agent-native payment rail: when credits run out, the agent gets the exact on-chain burn recipe (or executes it itself) instead of a dead end.

Tools

| Tool | What it does | |---|---| | list_models | Live model catalog with prices and tool_calling capability flags | | chat_completion | OpenAI-shaped completion; on 402 returns the payment instruction (remediation + x402) instead of failing | | check_credits | Credit balance for your tenant (1 credit = $1) | | usage | Job/token/cost stats (day/week/month) | | fund_via_burn | Sizes a burn from the live rate; with NEURA_WALLET_KEY set it executes burnWithReason on Base and submits the tx for crediting (requires confirm: true) | | discovery | The machine-readable spec at /.well-known/neura.json |

Install & configure

npm install -g @neuracomputes/mcp # or run from source: npm i && npm run build

Claude Desktop / Claude Code config:

{
  "mcpServers": {
    "neura": {
      "command": "neura-mcp",
      "env": {
        "NEURA_API_KEY": "sk_...",
        "NEURA_BASE_URL": "https://app.neuracomputes.com"
      }
    }
  }
}

Self-funding (optional, real money)

Set NEURA_WALLET_KEY to a private key holding $NEURA on Base only if you want the agent to be able to burn tokens autonomously. Burns are permanent. fund_via_burn refuses to execute without an explicit confirm: true argument, refuses when no live rate is available, and without a wallet key it only ever returns the recipe.

Use a dedicated hot wallet with a small balance — never a treasury key.

Env

| Var | Required | Meaning | |---|---|---| | NEURA_API_KEY | for authed tools | Console-issued (or wallet self-provisioned) API key | | NEURA_BASE_URL | no | Defaults to https://app.neuracomputes.com | | NEURA_WALLET_KEY | no | Enables on-chain execution in fund_via_burn |

Publishing (maintainers)

cd packages/neura-mcp
npm install && npm run build
npm publish --access public # needs the @neura npm org
