Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

Object Extractor

Overview

The extract function retrieves values from a source object using a list of paths. For each specified key, multiple paths can be provided, and the function returns the value from the first valid path found.

API Reference

extract(variables, ...sources)

Returns: Object

  • variables: Object
    An object where each key represents the name of the variable in the resulting object, and the value is an array of paths (as dot-separated strings) to search for the corresponding value in the sources.

  • sources: ...Object
    One or more source objects from which values will be extracted. The function searches for values in the order of the provided sources, using the first valid path found.
