Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

NodeDaemon stores its configuration and state in ~/.nodedaemon/:

Process Configuration

When starting processes, you can specify:

Basic Options:

  • --name: Process name for easy identification
  • --instances: Number of instances (1, 4, 'max' for CPU count)
  • --watch: Enable file watching for auto-restart
  • --watch-paths: Specific paths to watch
  • --env: Environment variables (KEY=VALUE)
  • --env-file: Load environment from file (.env, .env.local, etc)
  • --cwd: Working directory
  • --args: Command line arguments
  • --interpreter: Custom interpreter (default: node)

Restart Configuration:

  • --max-memory: Memory limit before restart
  • --max-restarts: Maximum restart attempts
  • --restart-delay: Delay between restarts
  • --min-uptime: Minimum uptime to reset restart counter (ms)

Auto-restart Options (v1.0.2):

  • --auto-restart-memory: Enable auto-restart on high memory
  • --auto-restart-cpu: Enable auto-restart on high CPU
  • --memory-threshold: Memory threshold for auto-restart (default: 512MB)
