Optimize Toolset

I’ve always been into building performant and accessible sites, but lately I’ve been taking it extremely seriously. So much so that I’ve been building a tool to help me optimize and monitor the sites that I build to make sure that I’m making an attempt to offer the best experience to those who visit them. If you’re into performant, accessible and SEO friendly sites, you might like it too! You can check it out at Optimize Toolset.

About

Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

If you’re interested in other things I’m working on, follow me on Twitter or check out the open source projects I’ve been publishing on GitHub.

I am also working on a Twitter bot for this site to tweet the most popular, newest, random packages from npm. Please follow that account now and it will start sending out packages soon–ish.

Open Software & Tools

This site wouldn’t be possible without the immense generosity and tireless efforts from the people who make contributions to the world and share their work via open source initiatives. Thank you 🙏

Three.js surface integration — embed Canvas 2D UI as texture in 3D scenes

Readme

@number10/jsx-three

Three.js surface bridge for PhaserJSX. Render portable UI into an offscreen Konva surface and map that canvas onto Three.js meshes.

Status

First public release. Useful for interactive monitor, kiosk, and in-world screen setups. It is intentionally a bridge layer, not a standalone JSX renderer.

What this is

@number10/jsx-three is not a native 3D UI framework. It is a bridge for rendering portable, declarative 2D JSX interfaces onto interactive Three.js surfaces.

The goal is not to replace spatial 3D UI systems, but to make application-style UI easy to build, iterate on, and reuse inside 3D scenes such as monitors, control panels, kiosks, and in-world displays.

Install

pnpm add @number10/jsx-core @number10/jsx-components @number10/jsx-konva @number10/jsx-three
pnpm add react react-dom konva three @react-three/fiber

Add @react-three/drei if you want helpers such as OrbitControls.

What it does

  • Creates offscreen Konva-backed panels via PanelManager
  • Exposes ready-to-use mesh components: PlanePanelMesh, CurvedPanelMesh, CubePanelMesh
  • Forwards pointer and wheel input from mesh hits back into the panel UI
  • Coordinates scene controls with panel interaction via usePanelBlocking()
  • Supports panel textures with portal-backed overlays because the Konva surface is composited

Minimal example

const manager = new PanelManager()
const panel = manager.createPanel({
  id: id('monitor'),
  component: MonitorPanel,
  width: 1024,
  height: 640,
})

<Canvas camera={{ position: [0, 0.9, 3.6], fov: 38 }}>
  <CurvedPanelMesh
    panel={panel}
    radius={1.64}
    height={1.06}
    arc={1.02}
    position={[0, 0, 0.03]}
    insideOut
  />
</Canvas>
