Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

Base 64

A simple Base64 library create as a programming excersise.

There are many much better libraries out there, so use this one only if you would like to play with the code.

  • Can decode and encode string from/to Base64 and Base64Url.

Installation

npm i @obsessiveo/base64

Usage

Base64

To encode a string use

const s = base64Encode(text);

This will encode text to a Base64 string and adds padding (=) if needed. It is assumed text is in UTF-8 format.

// for example
const s = base64Encode('Hello World');

results in SGVsbG8gV29ybGQ=

To decode a Base64 string use

const s = base64Decode('text');

This will decode text Base64 string

// for example
const s = base64Decode('SGFwcHkgZmFjZQ==');

results in Happy face

Base64Url

To encode a string use

const s = base64UrlEncode(text);

This will encode text to a Base64Url string. It is assumed text is in UTF-8 format. Padding is not added.

// for example
