Optimize Toolset

I’ve always been into building performant and accessible sites, but lately I’ve been taking it extremely seriously. So much so that I’ve been building a tool to help me optimize and monitor the sites that I build to make sure that I’m making an attempt to offer the best experience to those who visit them. If you’re into performant, accessible and SEO friendly sites, you might like it too! You can check it out at Optimize Toolset.

About

Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

If you’re interested in other things I’m working on, follow me on Twitter or check out the open source projects I’ve been publishing on GitHub.

I am also working on a Twitter bot for this site to tweet the most popular, newest, random packages from npm. Please follow that account now and it will start sending out packages soon–ish.

Open Software & Tools

This site wouldn’t be possible without the immense generosity and tireless efforts from the people who make contributions to the world and share their work via open source initiatives. Thank you 🙏

@oculusmind-ai/mcp-server

An MCP server that exposes the OculusMind.AI agents — Uno, Vera, and Maximus — as tools for Claude Code and any other MCP host. Each call forwards to the OculusMind A2A endpoint; auth is a bearer token you mint from your account.

Tools

| Tool | What it does | |------|--------------| | list_agents | Lists the agents you can talk to, with roles + descriptions. | | ask_agent | Sends a question to uno, vera, or maximus and returns the reply. |

Install

npx -y @oculusmind-ai/mcp-server     # no clone needed
npm install # also builds ../../clients/typescript, which this depends on
npm run build      # → dist/index.js

All A2A behaviour — request shaping, auth, reply parsing — lives in @oculusmind-ai/agents, consumed from this repo as an npm workspace. This package only maps MCP tool calls onto that client, so there is one A2A implementation to keep correct rather than two.

Tests

npm test # unit tests; no network
npm run test:integration # spawns the built server and speaks MCP over stdio

# Live agent round-trips are opt-in. Without a token they report as skipped.
OCULUSMIND_TOKEN=<your-token> npm run test:integration

Use with Claude Code

Mint a token on the Integrations page (see ../../docs/AUTHENTICATION.md), then:

claude mcp add oculusmind \
  --env OCULUSMIND_TOKEN=<your-token> \
  -- npx -y @oculusmind-ai/mcp-server

# from a clone instead: -- node "$(pwd)/dist/index.js"

Now, in Claude Code:

"Use oculusmind to ask Vera to verify the battery spec of the DJI Mini 5, and ask Uno for the weather in Austin."

The tools appear as mcp__oculusmind__list_agents and mcp__oculusmind__ask_agent.

Use with other MCP hosts

Any stdio MCP client works. Example config entry:

{
  "mcpServers": {
    "oculusmind": {
      "command": "npx",
      "args": ["-y", "@oculusmind-ai/mcp-server"],
      "env": { "OCULUSMIND_TOKEN": "<your-token>" }
    }
  }
}

From a clone, use "command": "node" with "args": ["/absolute/path/to/servers/mcp/dist/index.js"] instead.

Configuration

| Env var | Required | Default | Notes | |---------|----------|---------|-------| | OCULUSMIND_TOKEN | yes | — | Bearer token from the Integrations page (valid 7 days). | | OCULUSMIND_BASE_URL | no | https://api.oculusmind.ai | Use https://api-beta.oculusmind.ai to target beta. |

Notes:

  • Maximus is gated to the paid Plus/Pro tiers (plus VIP/admin) — a call to it fails with a permission error if your account lacks access.
  • The token is read from the environment and never logged.
