Optimize Toolset

I’ve always been into building performant and accessible sites, but lately I’ve been taking it extremely seriously. So much so that I’ve been building a tool to help me optimize and monitor the sites that I build to make sure that I’m making an attempt to offer the best experience to those who visit them. If you’re into performant, accessible and SEO friendly sites, you might like it too! You can check it out at Optimize Toolset.

About

Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

If you’re interested in other things I’m working on, follow me on Twitter or check out the open source projects I’ve been publishing on GitHub.

I am also working on a Twitter bot for this site to tweet the most popular, newest, random packages from npm. Please follow that account now and it will start sending out packages soon–ish.

Open Software & Tools

This site wouldn’t be possible without the immense generosity and tireless efforts from the people who make contributions to the world and share their work via open source initiatives. Thank you 🙏

Signal-based Angular rich-text editor: a dependency-free contenteditable editor over its own document model (no execCommand) with headings, lists, quotes, code, links, images, colours and alignment, its own undo history, markdown shortcuts, Word / Google

@oge-ui/editor

Rich-text editor for Angular 22 — a contenteditable editing surface driven by a document model of its own, with a sanitized HTML value. Signal-based, standalone, dependency-free, MIT.

npm install @oge-ui/editor
<oge-editor label="Description" [(value)]="html" placeholder="Write something…" />

What it does

  • Formatting — bold, italic, underline, strikethrough, inline code, sub/superscript, text and highlight colours, headings, quotes, code blocks, bulleted and numbered lists with nesting, links, images by URL, horizontal rules, alignment and per-block text direction.
  • No execCommand — every edit is a command on the editor's own document model, so every browser produces the same markup, and undo/redo is the editor's own history (typing coalesces into words).
  • Keyboard first — Ctrl/⌘+B / I / U / K / Z / Y, Shift+Enter, Tab / Shift+Tab in lists, Ctrl+Alt+1…6 for headings, and markdown shortcuts (# , - , 1. , > , ```, ---). Every shortcut is in its tool's tooltip and aria-keyshortcuts.
  • Safe HTML in and out — one strict allowlist parser handles the bound value, pastes (Word and Google Docs are cleaned up) and insertHtml(). Scripts, event handlers, style beyond colour/alignment and unsafe URLs never survive; links go through sanitizeUrl, images through sanitizeResourceUrl. Its one DOMParser call runs behind the oge-ui#editor Trusted Types policy, and the live DOM is built with createElement — never innerHTML. ogeSanitizeEditorHtml() is exported for server-bound values.
  • Forms, three ways — standalone [(value)], reactive forms through ControlValueAccessor (with ogeEditorMaxLength() counting text, not markup), and Signal Forms through the FormValueControl contract.
  • Accessible — role="textbox" with aria-multiline, a labelled APG toolbar with roving focus and an overflow menu, announced formatting toggles, forced-colours and reduced-motion support, RTL.

Customization

Every string lives in OgeEditorMessages; override them app-wide with provideOgeEditorConfig({ messages: { … } }) or per instance with [messages]. The toolbar takes built-in tool names, 'separator' and your own OgeEditorCustomTool objects.
