Optimize Toolset

I’ve always been into building performant and accessible sites, but lately I’ve been taking it extremely seriously. So much so that I’ve been building a tool to help me optimize and monitor the sites that I build to make sure that I’m making an attempt to offer the best experience to those who visit them. If you’re into performant, accessible and SEO friendly sites, you might like it too! You can check it out at Optimize Toolset.

About

Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

If you’re interested in other things I’m working on, follow me on Twitter or check out the open source projects I’ve been publishing on GitHub.

I am also working on a Twitter bot for this site to tweet the most popular, newest, random packages from npm. Please follow that account now and it will start sending out packages soon–ish.

Open Software & Tools

This site wouldn’t be possible without the immense generosity and tireless efforts from the people who make contributions to the world and share their work via open source initiatives. Thank you 🙏

@oge-ui/react-inputs

React form editors from the OGE UI suite, with the full oge field chrome — label modes, prefix/suffix slots, clear button, validation subscript, grapheme-accurate character counter, password reveal and copy-to-clipboard — running the same framework-free commit pipeline, messages and design tokens as the Angular @oge-ui/inputs package.

The OGE suite is one component engine with a native render layer per framework: nothing here wraps Angular, and the React layer is heading for full component and feature parity with the Angular suite, family by family (see the suite's ROADMAP-REACT.md).

What ships today

Every editor below shares one field chrome — four label modes, three styling modes, prefix/suffix props, clear button and the fixed-height validation subscript — and the standard React controlled/uncontrolled pair (value + onValueChange, or defaultValue).

  • Text<OgeTextBox> (modes text/email/password/search/tel/url, grapheme counter, password reveal, copy-to-clipboard, debounce with blur/Enter flush), <OgeTextArea> (auto-resize with a row clamp) and <OgeNumberBox> (Intl formatting, clamping, spin buttons with hold-to-repeat; empty is null, never 0).
  • Toggles<OgeCheckBox> (three-state), <OgeSwitch> and <OgeRadioGroup> (roving tabindex, horizontal/vertical layout).
  • Drop-down editors<OgeSelectBox> (search, grouping, lazy items, type-ahead, acceptCustomValue), <OgeTagBox> (multi-select chips with overflow) and <OgeAutocomplete> (free text with suggestions, forceSelection, match highlighting). All three support virtualScroll for large lists.
  • Sliders<OgeSlider> and <OgeRangeSlider>: the APG slider pattern with live drag commits, Escape-to-cancel, ticks, value bubbles and the multi-thumb constraint.
  • Dates<OgeCalendar> (month/year/decade drill, single/multiple/ range selection, week numbers), <OgeDateBox> (date/time/datetime with locale-aware parsing) and <OgeDateRangeBox>.
  • <OgeColorBox> — saturation/brightness surface, hue and alpha sliders, hex/RGB inputs, swatch palette and the platform eyedropper.
  • <OgeInputsConfigProvider> — the React counterpart of provideOgeInputsConfig(); defaults and strings are single-sourced in @oge-ui/behavior.

Tree select is a recorded parity exception: it renders the navigation tree, which has no React port yet (see the suite's docs/REACT-PARITY.md).

Installation

npm install @oge-ui/react-inputs

Requires React 18 or 19. Import the stylesheet once at your app entry:

import '@oge-ui/react-inputs/styles.css';
import '@oge-ui/react-overlay/styles.css'; // drop-down panels (select box, tag box,
// autocomplete, date box, color box, tree select)
import '@oge-ui/react-navigation/styles.css'; // the tree select's popup tree

Quick start

'use client';

import { useState } from 'react';
import { OgeTextBox } from '@oge-ui/react-inputs';

export function Profile() {
  const [email, setEmail] = useState('');
  return <OgeTextBox label="E-mail" mode="email" value={email} onValueChange={setEmail} showClearButton required errors={email === '' ? [{ kind: 'required' }] : []} />;
}
