Optimize Toolset

I’ve always been into building performant and accessible sites, but lately I’ve been taking it extremely seriously. So much so that I’ve been building a tool to help me optimize and monitor the sites that I build to make sure that I’m making an attempt to offer the best experience to those who visit them. If you’re into performant, accessible and SEO friendly sites, you might like it too! You can check it out at Optimize Toolset.

About

Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

If you’re interested in other things I’m working on, follow me on Twitter or check out the open source projects I’ve been publishing on GitHub.

I am also working on a Twitter bot for this site to tweet the most popular, newest, random packages from npm. Please follow that account now and it will start sending out packages soon–ish.

Open Software & Tools

This site wouldn’t be possible without the immense generosity and tireless efforts from the people who make contributions to the world and share their work via open source initiatives. Thank you 🙏

Font and UI components used by kam.insektionen.se

Readme

KMUtils Package

Provides utility classes, fonts sizes and view components that are used in https://kam.insektionen.se/.

KMUtils requires TailwindCSS to work.

Installation

Since KMUtils uses Tailwind utility classes, you will need to enable Tailwind within your NodeJs in your tailwind.config.js file.

/** @type {import('tailwindcss').Config} */
module.exports = {
  darkMode: 'class',
  content: [
    "./src/**/*.{js,jsx,ts,tsx}",

    // Add this line to your tailwind.config.js file
    "./node_modules/@ohshitnotgood/**/*.{js,jsx,ts,tsx}",
  ],
  theme: {
    extend: {},
  },
  plugins: [],
}

Components included

Nav

Displays a transparent responsive nav bar that hides behind a hamburger icon in mobile view.

Footer

Footer accompanies Nav meaning you do not need to separately call the Footer component. Pass includeFooter={true} when calling Nav.

Breadcrumbs

Displays breadcrumbs on a page. Default font is a green colour with green right-facing chevrons. Colours cannot be customised but only toggled between light and dark mode.

You do not need to provide location arguments to Breadcrumbs; Breadcrumbs uses document.location object to determine it's location in the site.

HamburgerIcon

Used by Nav to display a hamburger icon in mobile view. Not recommended to be used in a project.

BlogPost

Displays a blog-style page with title, subtitle, and image. Title and subtitle text appear in a green colour which cannot be changed as of version 0.0.4.

Fonts included

BlogBody

Displays a very dark green text suitable for use for writing text in a blog-style page. Font sizes and font colours cannot be modified using Tailwind.

BlogSectionHeader

Displays a green bolded text suitable as headers for a section.

LargeTitle

Displays a large text suitable for use as a title font. This component is currently being used to display the 'KISTA' text on the homepage.
