Optimize Toolset

I’ve always been into building performant and accessible sites, but lately I’ve been taking it extremely seriously. So much so that I’ve been building a tool to help me optimize and monitor the sites that I build to make sure that I’m making an attempt to offer the best experience to those who visit them. If you’re into performant, accessible and SEO friendly sites, you might like it too! You can check it out at Optimize Toolset.

About

Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

If you’re interested in other things I’m working on, follow me on Twitter or check out the open source projects I’ve been publishing on GitHub.

I am also working on a Twitter bot for this site to tweet the most popular, newest, random packages from npm. Please follow that account now and it will start sending out packages soon–ish.

Open Software & Tools

This site wouldn’t be possible without the immense generosity and tireless efforts from the people who make contributions to the world and share their work via open source initiatives. Thank you 🙏

Source-only bundle of SnackDesk React/TypeScript, ASP.NET Core 10, and Windows IIS helper

Readme

SnackDesk — npm source bundle

This npm package contains source files for a Windows IIS application with a React/TypeScript frontend and an ASP.NET Core 10 backend. It is not an executable Node.js app or a standalone React component library. Installing it with npm install does not configure IIS, run the ASP.NET backend, or create the SQLite database.

This archive was prepared from the project source ZIP. The original ZIP did not include compiled publish/ and helper/ release folders. To install as an IIS application, build with the project’s Windows build/publish scripts and follow the project docs. See PROJECT-README.md, DEVELOPMENT.md, and INSTALL.md.

For npm publishing

The npm package name in package.json is a suggested placeholder: snackdesk-fullstack-source-2026. Before publishing, choose a package name you own or change it to @your-npm-username/snackdesk-source. Verify that you have rights to publish the source, because normal npm publishing makes the source publicly accessible. This example uses license: UNLICENSED because the source ZIP contained no project-wide license; change only if you own the rights and intend to license it differently.

From the editable source directory:

npm pkg set name="@your-npm-username/snackdesk-source"
npm pack --dry-run
npm login
npm publish --access public

You will need to use your actual npm username, and npm authentication may require two-factor verification. Public publishing is not recommended for confidential/internal source code.

Work with the sources

On a Windows development machine, extract the package to a normal directory, then follow DEVELOPMENT.md for prerequisite .NET and Windows tooling. The frontend uses its own client/package.json, independently of the source-distribution wrapper's root package.json.

npm --prefix client ci
npm --prefix client run build

The frontend build targets server/SnackDesk.Api/wwwroot; it requires the backend to serve the app for full functionality.

Do not confuse this npm source bundle with a compiled Windows deployment release.
